After launching his career with World Victory Road's Sengoku event series and fighting exclusively in Japan, Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal has decided to return to the U.S. and compete for Strikeforce.

Strikeforce has not officially announced the signing of the light heavyweight.

Lawal, who made his U.S. debut in August, will continue to compete in both Japan and the U.S., according to Sherdog.

Lawal, a decorated amateur wrestler and NCAA Division I All-American, could make his promotional debut by year's end.

), the 28-year-old Lawal said he was open to fighting in any organization – provided the contract is in his best interest.

"I'll fight anybody," said Lawal, who said he could compete in the middleweight, light heavyweight or heavyweight division if given enough notice. "Brock (Lesnar), I don't care. I'm a mercenary for the cash. But at the same time, I want the experience.

"I like to fight a lot. Right now I'm just in the early stages of my career. I feel like I need to stay busy and fight and beat bigger names."

Lawal turned pro in September 2008. He garnered some immediate attention when he stopped veteran Travis Wiuff with a first-round TKO. The loss snapped Wiuff's nine-fight win streak and dropped his record to 54-12.

Since that debut victory, Lawal had posted four victories (all but three via stoppage) in WVR, and most recently, scored a swift 25-second knockout of Mark Kerr at "M-1: Breakthrough" in Kansas City, Kan., in August.

It's not a surprise that Dana didn't pick him up because he still needs to prove himself with a few more fights I'd say.

It'll be fun to see Gegard Mousasi kick his ass, but he won't do much with the company after that besides be a sideshow clown.

Exactly BP, it is a solid signing and I can't wait to see him fight.

I'm just waiting for an explanation on the "sideshow clown" comment.

A sideshow clown in MMA to me is someone who's flashly and talks a HUGE game, but never backs it up. Sure, King Mo is undefeated, but who has he fought? No one. And when he fights Mousasi, IF he fights Mousasi I should say, he'll then be exposed and will go back to fighting nothing but cans, while still talking like he's the greatest., thus being a sideshow clown in my eyes.

Nick Diaz the man is not.

Umm, he beat Travis Wiuff in his debut fight with virtual ease, Wiuff isn't the hardest fight you'll find but he's a vet and still a name is he not?

Kerr is also a name but he's a joke these days.

You only beat what gets put in front of you and so far that is what he's done.

I lost respect for Mo when he started calling out Rampage when he knew Rampage couldn't fight him. Hopefully he gets his ass kicked fades and shuts the fuck up.
