Well WEC is prolifically for the smaller fighters, namely the Featherweight and Bantamweight fighters which is the main attraction because the UFC doesn't accommodate for those weight classes. I basically see that as a putdown for smaller fighters because it has to be the ultimate dream to fight in the UFC but the best that they can hope for in America at least is the WEC.
It's not just that though, there really is a lot of talent in the smaller weights and they should be able to fight in the UFC just as much as the bigger fighters. A merger would be the only option really because as I said, the main attraction of the WEC is the smaller divisions and if the UFC simply added in the smaller weights, then it would be taking viewers away from WEC would it not?
I know I would love to see WEC talent such as Urijah Faber, Mike Brown and Miguel Torres fight in the UFC, not to mention worldwide talent that they new divisions in the UFC would attract.
Thoughts?
