As an MMA fighter, what would you want the announcer to be announcing along with your name, with the sport gaining popularity fast nicknames are obviously being taken fast and to have an original nickname you really have to be creative or just hope that a simple nickname that you want hasn't been taken yet.
Would your nickname be before your name, inbetween your first and last name or after your name?
I would have to go with Warrior, it's the name of my favourite sports team and I have it tattoed on my left forearm, it fits perfectly.

You can't earn some of the names that are out there though tbh such as for example, nicknames including monkey, type monkey into sherdogs nickname search. You get things such as Monkey King, Space Monkey, Mad Monkey etc.

If I did go in with the nickname I am usually called, "Talent", it could work. However, my practice and amateur nickname has been The Mad Hatter. A friend of mine's is Pegasus. I like that one.

Look at guys like Josh Burkman his nickname is the People's Warrior now I don't know about you but I don't know where he got that nickname and it doesn't seem the fans cheer him too much in the first place...

I just dig that there are tons of assassins, young assassin, Alaskan Assassin, Babyface Assassin, Dark Assassin, Soul Assassin etc.
The great nicknames are the ones given by training partners or maybe don't make you a tough guy. Like "Twinkle Toes" Trigg. Or Vlady being "The Janitor", "Gumby" Jeremy Horn.
The only thing that sucks more than nicknaming yourself is being like Paul Buentello and trying to coin a catch phrase.

If you give yourself a nickname and you don't live up to it, then you're the one that looks a dick, it doesn't go on anyone else. It's just a nickname...

Well, I think it's better that a fighter earn his nickname. I guess I agree with most of what Suffy said and some of what you have said. When fighters earn their nickname it seems to have so much more meaning and more people seem to go along with it. Then of course, you get people like Burkman who aren't really crowd favorites with nicknames like the "Peoples Warrior". 'But that is more on the fighter and not all self-chosen nicknames are bad.
