Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort Discussion

Not excited for this at all.

Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort: Another "meh" match for me. I dont like either fighter and couldnt care less who wins. I hope that Vitor wins, just so we can see him fight Anderson Silva again.

Mirko Filipović vs. Junior dos Santos: Crocop is over the hill. Dos Santos is going to knock him out in the 1rst round.

Mike Swick vs. Martin Kampmann: The WW title #1 contender match that no one cares about because everyone knows that GSP is going to destroy whoever the winner is! I dont really care who wins, I just know that it's useless either way. Too bad Carlos Condit had to lose to Kampmann. I would've loved to see Condit vs GSP.

Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg: This should be a good fight. They're both great wrestlers that have an ok striking game. Hopefully Kos wins and makes a run in the WW division.

Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort Discussion

I actually think its an pretty good card.

Like Suffy just said, Franklin never puts on a boring fight and Belfort is looking like he did in the old days. If the Phenom wins this fight, we could very well se Belfort vs Silva.

I love Heavyweight fights and Cro Cop always interests me...I dont care if he is not as good as he used to be, I still love to see him fighting.

Tyson Griffin vs James Franca should be the fight of the night...both are very skilled and both are fire crackers, should be very exciting.

Mike Swick Injured, out of UFC 103; Paul Daley to Be Replacement Against Martin Kampmann

Quote:
A concussion suffered during training has forced Mike Swick out of his welterweight title eliminator against Martin Kampmann at UFC 103 “Franklin vs. Belfort” on Sept. 19 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Swick confirmed the news via Twitter.

“I am out of UFC 103,” he wrote. “It sucks, and I am sorry guys. I got foot swept while sparring this week and lost my legs. Landed on back of my head and neck and suffered a pretty bad concussion.”

According to Martin Zelaznik, the UFC’s top executive in England, EliteXC veteran Paul Daley will replace Swick in the match against Kampmann.

“Semtex has come to the UFC with a lot of hype, a lot of ability and -- as he’s already proved -- a lot of confidence,” Zelaznik told The Sun, a U.K.-based publication. “He was asked to step up and -- real fighter that he is -- he accepted right away.”

Daley was originally scheduled to meet Brian Foster in his UFC debut at the event, but Swick’s misfortune provided the Brit with a golden opportunity to move up the card. A gifted striker, the 26-year-old Daley has posted nine wins in his last 11 bouts, losing only to former Bodog Fight champion Nick Thompson and world-ranked welterweight Jake Shields in that span.

that's a bummer, was looking forward to his match with Martin Kampmann.

Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort Discussion

FUCK YES!

This is Paul Daley's big chance man, beat Kampmann and he jumps up the pecking order really fast, I don't expect him to get a title shot like Swick would have, but it would do him no harm whatsoever.

Though I think Kos will beat him, I'm rooting for Trigg in this fight after watching the countdown. The guy has matured greatly.
