Re: Diego Sanchez Next In Line For The Lightweight Belt?

Can someone actually found out if Florian was 40 pounds smaller than Sanchez in that fight...I seem to remember it was that much, but I'm not 100% sure.

edit: I just posted a video of their fight and it says that he came in to the fight weighting 183 lbs...Weird, Im so totally off on this. I wonder how much Diego weighed that day.

I'm not sure who I want to win that fight. I'm not sure I want to see Diego get a title shot. I do, however, want to see Diego do his "YES!" chant again and again.

He was naturally 30 pounds lighter heading into the fight with Sanchez. He didn't actually weigh in 30 pounds lighter.

In my opinion, Diego needs one more win before getting a title shot, preferably against Gray Maynard.

And I think Penn is going to destroy Florian, personally. Florian has good Mauy Thai, but it's nothing compared to BJ's boxing. And on the ground BJ is far superior. It's going to be a good fight, no doubt, but I don't think Florian stands a chance.

Re: Diego Sanchez Next In Line For The Lightweight Belt?

I don't see how Maynard is relevant, especially seeing as he is heading into a fight against Huerta which he could well lose.

Well, he's on a five fight win streak. And if he does defeat Huerta like he should, then him and Diego should fight to see who gets the shot next.

If/when BJ defeats Florian, he's going to want time off anyway, so a Maynard/Diego fight where the winner gets the title shot will fit the schedule perfectly.

Re: Diego Sanchez Next In Line For The Lightweight Belt?

Well seeing as Maynard is fighting quite a while after Diego last fought, Diego will fight before Maynard does, he will fight someone else for the contendership.

Yeah but who else is there other than Maynard? Frankie Edgar?

Maynard just needs to make the most out of this opportunity and finish Huetra off as quickly and harmless as possible, and then take on Diego two/three months after that fight.

Re: Diego Sanchez Next In Line For The Lightweight Belt?

That fight between Huerta/Maynard can determine another number one contender if Diego/Penn or Florian gets booked. Perferrably, I would love the loser of Huerta/Maynard to fight Clay Guida or Tyson Griffin, the winner of that fight face Joe Steveson, and Diego get the title shot and continue a new No. 1 Race
