View Poll Results: Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin at UFC 101
Well, Forrest will be facing Anderson Silva at UFC 101 Declaration and I wonder how many people here think he can put an end to Silva's streak.
Forrest Griffin is no stranger to big victories when he is the underdog. Defeated Mauricio Rua, a guy who was considered the best lightweight in the world at the time, and took the Title away from Rampage at UFC 86.
Alot of guys, when they face Silva, they fight scared, but this will surely not happen with Griffin. He can also take a beating and keep going. His endurance is 2nd to none and nobody can question his heart.
This bout will also be at Lightweight, therefor Silva will come in this fight as the smaller of the two. If Griffin gets on top of him, it will be tough for Silva to shake him off imo. Griffin's gound and pund is also very good.
Griffin has never lost back to back fights.
Can Silva keep his undefeated UFC streak or will Forrest shock the World?

Do you have a reason not to give The Half Boy your vote for the Hall of Fame?
I think Forrest can pull it off. He has to take this fight to the ground and just put his weight on him. We havent seen yet if Spider can take some good old fashion ground and pound. I think that could break his spirit.
Just added a poll.

He's tough and he has heart, but so does Chris Leben. Silva has him beat in every aspect of the game and if Forrest manages to take him down he still has to deal with his black belt jiu jitsu. Forrest will be outmatched and TKO'd in a later round. imo of course.

This is a winnable fight for Griffen if he fights smart. If he goes in there and bangs, he's going to sleep. I don't think he can out-strike Silva. But he can grind a win. Dirty, ugly, and effective. Take a note of how Couture took down Gonzaga, Sylvia, and how he was working against Lesnar. Forrest needs to use his size, keep it close, use the fence, and just grind. There's danger in that, with the clinch. It also depends on what version of Silva shows up. A motivated Silva is very very dangerous and might just be too much for Griffen. But the Silva that showed up for his last two fights is a very different story.... Grifffen might have a stand-up edge over that version.

You are actually not the only one to tell me that Forrest stinks. Alot of buddies think he is overated as well.
for whatever reason, I really like Forrest Griffin. I think it's his heart. I like the way he gives 110% in every fight.
I think Forrest is talent, I mean hes certainly no hack. I just believe his fights against top tier fighters have been to his favor in way or another. Rua was completely and utterly trash for there fight and deserved that loss, Rampages leg injury etc. Then he turns around and gets demolished by guys like Jardine and Rashad.
The way Silva works his striking, and the way he can work his BJJ off his back...I just don't know where Forrest gets the advantage in this fight from some people. The honest to god only ways I can see Forrest winning is laying on him for 3 rounds or catching him with a extremely lucky punch.

Actually, I don't even see Forrest getting a lucky punch... not with how Silva has been fighting recently. imo his only way to win would be laying on Silva for three rounds.
