Against Chuck Lidell, Shogun looked amazing and I especially loved the way he moved. He had an awesome game plan as well.
At one point, Rua was considered the best 205 on the planet, before losing to Griffin and having a poor showing against Coleman. Is he back now tho? Can he beat the seemingly unbeatable Machida?
Also, are you excited about this fight or do you think Machida should face someone else?

Do you have a reason not to give The Half Boy your vote for the Hall of Fame?
I know little about either man, but from watching both mens last two fights I will quite happily say that Rua is not that man he once was proclaimed to be. His fight with Coleman was possibly the worst fight I have ever seen, and he almost frigging lost. With Chuck, people will say that Rua was edging in on his former glory, but quite honestly, it's not like they were in there for a long time, and Rua threw a punch that landed in just the right spot. I could do that.
I see Machida walking all over him. It's a bad fight for Shogun.

If Rua could use the same game plan he had against Chuck, he might win. But, that awkward style of Machida will throw Rua off so he needs to study carefully about Machida's style.
His last two fights? How does his fight against Liddell help you "quite happily" say that. His fight against Coleman was coming off 2 major knee surgeries and against Liddell(no matter how short it was) he looked like the Shogun of old. However, the fight didn't last long so that says nothing about his cardio or if he can repeat that performance. Saying Machida will destroy Rua is a bold statement considering a healthy Rua will be the greatest striker Machida has faced yet, easily. That being said, Rua is going to have one hell of a time dealing with Machida's style and it's going to be interesting to see how he approaches the fight. Silva came straight forward and got knocked out, Evans tried counter punching and got knocked out, now it's Rua's turn.

Machida successfully defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with his face.
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no more pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
I think Machida takes it, just because Rua plays into Machida's game plan. I think Rampage might have a chance, or even Rashad in a rematch, if they engage, clinch, and grind. It wouldn't be a pretty way to beat Machida, but standing and throwing with him is not going to work.

Me being a huge Machida I really think hes gunna take it, I just don't think Rua is what he used to be and Machida is in his prime I see this being a pretty quick win for Machida.

I'm pulling for Shogun. If the fight with Liddell was the return of the 2005 Pride GP winner version of Shogun, then Machida will have his biggest test.
