I just would rather Rampage right now, that's it really. Give Rampage the title shot (fuck this TUF) and by the time the next defense comes around a contender will have emerged.
Agreed. Rampage lost his title in 2008 and he'll finally get his rematch in 2010? That just doesn't make sense to me at all... what if he loses to Rashad to boot? Give Rashad a title shot and Page will never get his?

Machida successfully defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with his face.

Agreed. I just don't understand the logic of the UFC doing it this way. It makes no sense to me.

Well I heard that Spike really pushed the UFC to have Rampage on this TUF just becaues he is entertaining as hell on TUF and Rampage doesn't really want to fight Machida, I'm not saying he's ducking I'm just saying he knows there are better opponents for Rampage than Lyoto.

That wouldn't surprise me. The UFC can't ignore the business side, even if it does sometime mess up the fight side a bit...
Rampage is smart enough to know that Machida is a very tough fight. For him or for anyone else.

Re: Shogun talks of 'huge fight'; potentially vs Lyoto?
Although Shogun has done nothing in the UFC to deserve this title shot there really is no one else that deserves it either. Rampage stated that he wanted to build himself back up before shooting for the title again, and considering what happened after he lost it I'd say that's a good idea. A rematch with Evans would work but as Evans and Rampage are doing TUF10 and building their own fight, that's just not gonna happen. Forrest lost his title to Evans and is now facing Anderson Silva so he's not gonna work either. I think it's a pretty comfortable match for Machida to win considering Shogun's past performance's in the octagon.
As for Rampage's iminent title shot. Honestly (as a Rampage fan) if he loses against Evans then he shouldn't get the shot. Yes, his loss to Forrest was controversial in some peoples eyes, but he shouldn't be getting a title shot following a loss. His match against Forrest was close no question, but in my opinion Griffin beat him, and I hate to say that cos I was supporting Jackson all through the fight. Interestingly enough, my friend was looking for a Griffin win and insists that Rampage took the fight.
