Well exactly and isn't that what Shaun said?
This doesn't need to be built up anymore than it already is, they had a live staredown on a PPV while talking major trash to eachother. People would have paid to see the fight at the next PPV. Now? The feud is going to die off and a number of people will even forget about it before this season eventually airs.

Japan stoopid! Canada would be killed. Seriously, Ive seen our MMA promotions up here, live, school fights have better forum. GSP was one in a million. Yeah overall, TUF 10 is gonna suck balls. Hopefully there is some drama...
I wouldn't say that Canadian Talent is pretty big up here, theres not a lot of great fighters but theres solid guys like Mark Hominick, Sam Stout, Jason Macdonald, etc. Enough to compete on TuF for sure.

I think the fact that they are just starting with 16 instead of 32 reflects on how few talented unsigned heavyweights there are. Personally I dig the idea of the season. Doesn't hold up a title, new Heavyweight talent, and I enjoy both Rashad and Rampage.
I think we got a sample of Rashad's style in Season 2 when he was trying to take Melvin under his wing and get him to boast less in the house.

The only thing I like about this season is that it is HW only because of the fact of the HW division easily being the least stacked division, sure there are some big talents but there isn't the numbers that say the LHW division has.
This will give us the winner and a few talents from the season as it always does.

Agreed and another season with 'Page should be entertaining but I'm not sold on him and Rashad not liking each other at all and I think it will show.
'and yeah, i'm sure that's exactly why Dana decided on doing heavyweights,

Machida successfully defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with his face.
You really think two of the biggest names in the UFC at this point will be hyped much further by being on the show? You think fans who didn't buy their in-ring confrontation will somehow be convinced by the show? Both guys have already proven capable of headlining PPVs that sell very well. Its unnecessary. Same as having guys like GSP or Penn on the show to try to sell more PPVs - it adds a minimal amount in that regard, if anything.
Another way to look at it - if this pushes their fight back by six months, they could theoretically have their much hyped showdown, and each headline another PPV in that time. So instead of one strong-selling PPV, they could have one strong-selling PPV and two more solid ones...
What about those fans that don't pick up every PPV? Those channel-surfers who skip through and pick up an episode of TUF and find out that these two charismatic guys coaching on the show are gonna fight at a PPV? These are people that do exist. I honestly think all that will happen with making this pair coaches on TUF is that they will strengthen the buuyrate for the eventually PPV cos they will air the confrontation continually, they will escalate matters on the show, and they will promote the PPV well. This is UFC, not WWE, they rarely screw up promoting the fights that they confirm are happening.
Well does it not show that the HW division has been in dire need for a while when he signed Lesnar?
Sure it has paid off but it was a huge risk.
How was signing Lesnar high risk? He pops buyrates, convincingly, every time he fights, and that was obvious from the moment Dana considered signing him. Brock was a ready made star waiting for the right platform to work from.
