The California Kid, Urijah Faber was on top of the WEC’s featherweight division for two and a half years and defended his title five times. Like a champ, the Kid dominated everyone in his path, until Mike Brown came along. Mike Brown, who trains with American Top Team, has been on his own rampage through the WEC rankings and has beat great fighters such as Jeff Curran, Leonard Garcia and even Urijah Faber.
At WEC 36, Brown caught Faber with a solid punch just as Faber threw a wild spinning elbow leaving himself open. Faber was dropped instantly and Mike Brown began pummeling him with punches. Unable to recover the ref stopped the fight and Mike Brown took ownership of the Featherweight Title Belt and became the #1 ranked 145 pounder in the world. After a quick win over the legendary Jens Pulver, Faber rebounded and is now banging on the door of Mike Brown and wants a chance to get the belt back. This could be the biggest fight Faber has ever been up against. A second loss to Mike Brown will certainly be a set back that will be hard to over come. A win however, will put Faber back on top as the world champion featherweight.
The fight takes place June 7th at Arco Arena, Sacramento CA. Here is a great preview to the fight.

The main card airs live on VERSUS.
In addition to the evening's main event and a previously announced featherweight contest between Josh Grispi (12-1 MMA, 2-0 WEC) and Jens Pulver (22-11-1 MMA, 1-3 WEC), the main card will be completed by Jose Aldo (14-1 MMA, 4-0 WEC) vs. Cub Swanson (13-2 MMA, 3-1 WEC) and Donald Cerrone (9-1 MMA, 2-1 WEC) vs. James Krause (10-0 MMA, 0-0 WEC).
While Aldo has proven to be a hot commodity in the WEC with four-straight wins in the organization, Swanson said he was looking forward to the challenge.
"It's an honor to fight an opponent who thinks of himself so highly," Swanson said. "[Aldo sees] himself as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter. (When) someone thinks of himself as such a great fighter, I'm up for the challenge."
Cerrone was originally expected to face nine-time WEC veteran Rich Crunkilton (16-2 MMA, 8-1 WEC), but "Cleat" was forced out of the bout after suffering an injury in training. WEC newcomer Krause will face a stern test in his first bout in the organization.
Five preliminary card bouts were also announced. Mike Campbell (4-1 MMA, 0-1 WEC) vs. Anthony Pettis (6-0 MMA, 0-0 WEC), Scott Jorgensen (6-2 MMA, 2-1 WEC) vs. Antonio Banuelos (15-5 MMA, 6-4 WEC) and Seth Dikun (6-3 MMA, 0-1 WEC) vs. Rolando Perez (4-2-1 MMA, 0-1 WEC) were added along with previously reported bouts of Manny Gamburyan (8-4 MMA, 0-0 WEC) vs. John Franchi (5-0 MMA, 1-0 WEC) and Eddie Wineland (14-6-1 MMA, 1-2 WEC) vs. Frank Gomez (6-1 MMA, 0-1 WEC).
The full card now includes:

PRELIMINARY CARD (un-televised)
