little bit of drama played out at Thursday's pre-event press conference for Saturday's "March Badness" event in Florida.
The hybrid MMA/boxing card features MMA rookie and former WWE star Bobby Lashley, who drew the ire of opponent and late replacement Jason Guida.
Tempers boiled over when Lashley read critical comments Guida had made about him earlier in the week.
Lashley read the comments while addressing the media and crowd.
"That's why I'm not in a good mood for this fight," Lashley said after reading the quotes. "This fight will be a good one. I hope he can back up what he says because I have a reason to fight now."
Moments later when the fighters posed for the customary staredown photos, trash-talking quickly ensued.
"This is all real stuff," Guida said to Lashley during the staredown. "And you've been faking it for how long? How long you been faking it? Let them know."
Guida, a late replacement for Ken Shamrock (due to a failed drug test), eventually extended his arm for a handshake, but Lashley brushed it aside. When Guida moved in closer to his opponent, Lashley grabbed him by the throat and pushed him back.
Guida has always been an idiot, I would commend him for having the balls to square up to Lashley like that but quite honest I think it was stupidy.

What you mean Hammer? This was at the press conference for the PPV. Guida is a last minute replacement for Shamrock. I guess when Guida find out he would be facing Lashley, he made some comments about him and of course that Lashley wasn't too happy about it.

Do you have a reason not to give The Half Boy your vote for the Hall of Fame?
Re: Jason Guida and Bobby Lashley briefly scuffle at "March Badness" presser
Last time I saw Guida fight, he basically gave up. Pretty sure it was the ShoXC show in October. He basically just quit fighting back until the ref had to stop it. One of the least impressive performances I've seen in MMA in regards to guts.
As far as "wars of words", gotta agree with Sawyer - they rarely have any real basis. Its usually just a way to sell the fight. You can usually tell it was a bunch of bull when the two guys act perfectly respectful after the fight is over. One of the few instinces I can think of think where I think the heat is legit is Wanderlei-Rampage.

Last time I saw this Guida was on TUF where he basically gave up trying to cut weight, he clearly doesn't have enough heart or desire. There are plenty of guys that would have killed for his place in the house, he is just a fucking pussy man.
