It seems like BJ might retire. I looked around and I found an interview where even Dana White seems to believe that if Penn had won against GSP he would've retired. But he also thinks that because he lost to GSP, he might want to fight one more time and go out as a winner.
Below it's the video of BJ Penn mentioning his retirement. A real sad day for MMA if he indeed retires.

Do you have a reason not to give The Half Boy your vote for the Hall of Fame?
Pretty much nothing with BJ Penn surprises me. Don't mean that in a negative way. From what I've read, he comes from a wealthy family and fighting has never been about the money for him. It makes him unpredictable. So you get things like him pushing for the GSP rematch. So if he does retire, I wouldn't be shocked.
I don't see him retiring until after Florian. And then if he does, I see him jumping back in for super fights when new dominant fighters arise and challenge his ego.

Well that wouldn't surprise me at all Zar but that's what I said, he will fight Florian first... not that we will be able to call it a fight afterwards.

And I'm a BJ Penn fan as much as the next guy but I think this is all a ploy to up his own star stock. He got dominated by GSP and he wants to feel important. So he threatens retirement to see what people say.
I doubt he's going to go anywhere. And even if he does officially retire, he will not stay away from the UFC forever. I can pretty much guarantee that BJ Penn has not fought his last fight in the octagon.
