This is such a huge fight that I think it deserves its own thread. I also added a poll.
So, what do you guys think? Can Arlovski beat the Last Emperor? Five years ago I loved Arlovski. I thought he was the perfect heavyweight. But something happened to him. After he got knocked out by Sylvia, he started fighting scared. The fight he had against Werdum was the most boring fight I have ever seen. He just wouldnt engage. But then he went to Affliction and I saw the old Arlovski again. He demolished Rothwell in that fight. He took him apart with great boxing and sharp kicks. But then again, Rothwell is no Fedor. I also saw his fight on EliteXc against Roy Nelson and to be honest, he looked like crap in that fight.
This is how I see it...if the real Arlovski comes out, Fedor might lose. Fedor's last real fight was more than 2 years ago (against Mark Hunt) and you might say he is a little rusty. He's also not getting any younger. People have to realize that he is not in his prime anymore. He has had more than 30 professional MMA fight and his body is kinda beat up.
I still think Fedor will win here, but it wouldnt surpise me at all if Arlovski won.

Do you have a reason not to give The Half Boy your vote for the Hall of Fame?
I have just been getting MMA for a year or so now, if that, so excuse me if some of my statements seem a bit absurd or inaccurate. Also, there is no poll.
Anyway, I have Fedor taking this one. Arlovski doesn't have the best chin in the business and I think Fedor will either K.O him or make him lose his balance and get the T.K.O on him. I don't think it will end on the ground even though Fedor is known for his ground godlyness. Likely. While Affliction might be able to throw big dollars at Arlovski, they can't offer him long-term security or visibility like the UFC can. There's little doubt the UFC will be around in a year, or two years. As much as I hope, you can't say the same thing about Affliction as a promotion. And considering how much money fights can make from good sponsorships, the higher degree of visiblity that the UFC affords has to be notable for a fighter.
Who knows. Maybe he wouldnt even be able to leave. But I cant see the UFC paying Fedor all the money he is asking if he lost to AA. Maybe they would sign him just to feed him to Brock, but what if Fedor beat Brock? I dont think they would take that chance with a guy who is not even rated #1 in the world anymore.

Yeah, I would think that there is something in the contract saying you can't leave if you are a title holder or something, but I wouldn't have a clue. Who's rated number 1 right now if Fedor isn't it?
