I love Austin Aries. I find his in ring work unbelievably solid.
But the winner is Nigel for me. Nigel is my favorite in ROH and the indy scene in general. I find him so enjoyable from in the ring to even on the mic now. He wins in a landslide despite Aries being one of my top 4.

I feel very much the same way as you Ken, just backwards. I think Nigel is great in the ring (though some of his moves like the rebound lariat and the turnbuckle handstand kick are THE dumbest moves I've ever seen) and he's very good on the mic, but I feel like Aries is just better. Aries is my favorite guy in RoH and in the indies in general and while I wouldn't say that Aries is on a higher level than Nigel I would say that he is better. His wrestling ability is incredible, he's got a good moveset, great intensity and he's great on the mic.

It's Nigel for me. I just find myself drawn to his antics, and he has some unbelievably solid ringwork, as well as a great gimmick. I'm not saying Aries doesn't have talent, which he undoubtedly does, no matter how much I watch, I can't get into what he does. My favourite match with him would be that match with Nigel, I found that match incredibly enjoyable.

I would say both men are pretty equal, in almost every way, so it really just comes down to my personal preference. Nigel has been such a joy to watch this year despite the down-syndrome suffering haters, I'll go with him. Though I should say I feel Nigel's best match was with Aries.
