Thanks for the update. There's 3 matches matches of KOT 2&3 on the must see matches. Which is telling me I should probably wath those two nights soon since I till have only watch night 1 lol. As a guy just getting into Chikara, this helps out alot. My favorite guys so far, are Osirian Portal, they are awesome! haha
The Relavation X tag match was great and is something soley missing from mainstream wrestling. It's also the first Colony match I saw where I realized just how good they were beyond being fun. (Fire moreso than Soldier).
I disagree entirely, it was a mindless spotfest with a lot of out-of-place lame comedy shit thrown in and I see no arguement for it being better than your weekly Colons match. The Portal are pretty decent, especially considering how long they've been pro, but the Ants are pretty much worthless in every way. The ladder match from the same show was great and a much better match to recommend than some sub-par effort at a Dragon Gate overkill tag with amatuerish execution.
I expect Bon to not talk to me for a week for that, but yeah there is no reason for that being better than the stuff you see on ECW or Superstars.

And yet I was entertained even though I don't like spotfests. It sounds like you just don't like the Ants which is why you don't like the match.
Not really, there was zero structure or story to the match. The first five minutes were just all over the place. They were doing lame comedy like the hypnosis spot which was totally out-of-context when trying to do a serious match (as if a bunch of guys dressed as ants weren't out of place enough...). The whole thing with Amasis's faked injury was totally random and pointless. The execution was poor and a lot of it was sloppy/backyardy, they were doing a whole bunch of MOVEZ for the sake of it and practically no build throughout the match. I don't see how it wasn't a spotfest considering it was pretty much 20 minutes of guys running around hitting cool-looking spots and moves at lightning pace with no real point to half of them. I could easlily watch any episode of Dragon Gate and find the exact same sort of match, with better execution, better characters and less nearfall overkill, and I would still think the match is crappy.
I do dislike the Ants. Because of matches like this. I mean, watch Portal vs QuackSaw from Behind The 8 Ball(?), way better tag match with way better storytelling, pacing , structure and selling and I wouldn't call that a MOTYC.
For the record, I think spotfests can be good. The fourway from KOT was a fun spotfest, and they weren't dressing it up as some epic battle. The MITB was a spotfest but was structured way better too.
Whilest ranting/on the topic, I havent gotten round to watching the Hair vs Masks match. Has anyone besides Bon watched it yet? Thoughts?
I saw it and was quite dissapointed, given the hype. I was hearing MOTYC-type stuff. It was very good, don't get me wrong, and the whole Soldier Ant comeback thing was great, but it just didn't feel all that epic to me.
It doesn't help that I can't really get into FIST or the Ants at all.
The whole thing with Amasis's faked injury was totally random and pointless.
It was because he had an ankle injury at Cibernetico Begins. This was his first match back from that, hence everyone "believing" it the first time he faked it in the match. So it wasn't totally random and pointless, you just didn't get it :\.

It was pointless because nothing came of it. What's the point of trying to do an injury angle (or an injury fake) if it's not going to actually come into play in the match. He could have not done it, and the match would have been the exact same.
