Champions Vs. All Stars

For ROH’s return to Richmond, VA on January 14, 2011 officials wanted to deliver something special for the fans at Raceway Complex. An exciting way to kick off our 9th year, and deliver the top-shelf wrestling action fans have come to expect from Ring of Honor. Well after much deliberation, we have set up a match featuring eight of the premier athletes within the ROH locker room!

On one side of the ring will be ROH World Champion Roderick Strong, ROH World Tag Team Champions Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli, and ROH World TV Champion Christopher Daniels! On the other side: Davey Richards, Jay & Mark Briscoe, and El Generico! ROH’s four champions versus four of ROH’s All-Stars!

“I look at this, and I am obviously the odd man out.” stated Christopher Daniels, “Roderick and I have our issues and I certainly want his belt to join the TV title already around my waist. Chris and I just fought in Louisville, and let’s just say I find his methods less than honorable when it comes down to the wire. Claudio, Chris, and I have history, and I wonder if the two of you still hold a grudge for me claiming the tag titles many years ago. Suffice to say I will have to have eyes in the back of my head for this one no doubt, and that’s just for the men on my team.”

“A chance to lay a beating on the Kings and Roddy? Count us in.” said Jay Briscoe, “Sorry about your luck Chris, you just happen to be on the wrong side of this one. My eyes are on Roddy and the Kings, but if we gotta fight, we gotta fight.”

This loaded 8-Man tag will certainly set the stage for the following night in Charlotte where Hero takes on Richards and Jay takes on Roderick for the World Title. How will these eight men work with one another? Davey has had issues in the past with all three of his partners, as have Generico and the Briscoes. Will the past play a part in the future of these men? Will the champions prove their dominance or will the All-Stars rise to the occasion? I hope this isn't indicating Generico feuds with Daniels next.

Daniels, I'm pretty sure is going to be less featured in the main event, to put Mike Bennett over in a TV title feud. Plus, I think his next iPPV match is the 2/3 falls with Edwards.

If Generico was to feud with Daniels maybe it would lead to some good Daniels matches which i havint seen in a while.

With an increasingly serious mentality that has helped lead him and his tag partner to great success, “Addicted to Love” Rhett Titus heads into 2011 with a shot at the ROH World Tag Titles in his very near future. But long before he can get into the ring for that title opportunity, he must first make it through Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC in mid-January.

Another man who is looking at a title opportunity in the very near future is “The Notorious 187” Homicide. Undefeated since returning to Ring of Honor competition, the former ROH World Champ is fresh off a victory over ROH World TV Champion Christopher Daniels at “Final Battle 2010”, and is looking to make 2011 the year of The Rottweiler when he reclaims the belt he lost but never had an opportunity recapture. Still, he too must make it through January 14th & 15th before he steps into the role of World Title challenger. And on 1/14/10, Homicide is looking to settle some unfinished business.

When ROH came to Dayton in October for “Allied Forces”, Homicide beat Kenny King but was immediately attacked by Titus following the victory. That beating was only stopped by the timely arrival of Jay Briscoe, and we all saw how that turned out. Well Homicide hasn’t had the opportunity to pay Rhett back for his interference until now.

On January 14th in Richmond, VA, it will be “The Notorious 187” Homicide vs. “Addicted to Love” Rhett Titus in a Grudge Match. Which competitor will kick of 2011 with a win? So no immediate clues as to what Homicide will be doing in 2010 besides one apparent title shot. If we get the same formula of Homicide's match with Necro, this'll be great.

And Daniels is not going to feud with Generico.
