The story of the match. I know to some people this may seem like a cheap answer but this was the BEST Match in Pre-2009 Davey & and is still the best match in Bourne's career. Richards & Sydal not having a lick of tag experience together thus them always leading to them getting dominated or their control periods being very very small. However, as the match grew on, they were growing into a tag team that were almost to dangerous for the Briscoes to handle. I haven't watched the match in awhile but last I remember it was pretty high on my top ROH tags list....even better than the tag the previous night against Strong & Aries.

I wouldn't call it great but I liked Super Dragon/Davey Richards vs. the Kings of Wrestling.

I found that him vs Marafuji at Final Battle 2007 was pretty good.

His match against Kota Ibushi was his first match after returning from Japan so it wouldn't count in this topic.

I'm not sure, but I think Steve was talking about his second Japan return, when he really started to become great after he split from the NRC.
