Kenny Omega.
This young 26 year old man came into some of the top companies late last year, already off the heels and getting released from his WWE contract.
He kind of came into this year as an indy jobber. He lost to Silas Young and Ernie Osiris before 2009 started. But look at his accomplishments:
- Entered 2009 at JAPW Heavyweight Champion; had almost a year long reign
- Has two pinfalls over champion Austin Aries in ROH
- HAs a cult fan base ALREADY in PWG; possibly going to win the tag titles.
- Won the Dramatic Dream with Kota Ibushi, another breakout
- Fantastic matches with Davey Richards, Claudio, another breakout in Kenny King, a six man, and Dragon in PWG.
He's a great package and it's been a great development and a hell of a climb for this guy. I've got to see the Collinsville match with Davey.
You see something big for him by the end of the year? Am I the only fan of this guy?

When did he lose to Ernie Osiris? He lost to Delirious and beat Silas, if I remember right.
Anyway, the guy's definitely proved he's worth having around, even with the wacky anime gimmick and has managed to put on some great matches. I really wish SOTF this year came down to him and Kenny King in the finals, because they've had a pretty entertaining mini-rivalry with some great midcard matches and I'd love to see what they could do together on a bigger scale. Unfortunately, I don't see him ever winning the title but he could be a great challenger.

Omega is having a pretty good year. The only ones I can think of that could come close are
Player Dos - Winning YLC and getting booked in ROH while looking good.
Eddie Edwards - Despite getting attention last year, he was put in the best team of the year, won the ROH tag belts and finally earned the ROH fan's respect.
Grizzly Redwood - if we could count the end of last year, the guy is finally being booked regularly with an over gimmick. Meanwhile, he's having success in CHIKARA.

Really aren't that many to compete with him. Unfortunately there's just not that many young talent out there, or else young talent that are giving the chance to shine. Kenny definitely has my vote, I hope ROH will use him more. Jim has a good point that Eddie finally gained the respect of the fans in 2009, but I'm not among those fans as he already had my respect.

Eddie already had my respect for being a solid singles wrestler who I felt just needed a good opportunity, but his performances this year along with gutting out Ladder War II were something else. The gap between him and Davey is definitely a lot smaller than it was when they started teaming up, thankfully.
