Solid stuff. Davey/Omega, Tyler/Hero and Steen/Roderick, all I'm looking forward to. Bucks/King & Titus should be good too. I'm hoping for Hero to go over Tyler and begin a hunt for the title.

I'm really looking forward to these two shows. It's the first chance to either prove the doubters right that they can't survive now or the first step in going in a new direction.
The card looks pretty good right now. The three main matches are nice showcases for what the main event scene can look like now.

Perhaps irrelevent, but in the spirit of change, does anyone think ROH could benefit from Steenerico splitting up for a while? It could create some fresh feuds with Steen challenging Aries for the title and Generico could feud with someone he's been known to put on good matches with - Claudio.
The tag division is really picking up and the Bucks are being groomed for the top face team spot when the Briscoes/Wolves feud is over, so I can see it working out.

Yeah, I'd definitely be up for a Steenerico split. But not with them turning on eachother, just something similar to what TNA was doing with LAX before Homicide turned.

I wouldn't have Steen turn on Generico or something like that, although that is something that that could be epic in a year or so if they fail to regain the tag titles.
Steenerico could just admit that they tried their best and maybe it's just time to move on to another title that they came very close to winning before. I don't think there's any other current teams they haven't faced, though I guess there's room for a Bucks rematch.

I wish this card was getting to be SOTF because I think it has a much better-looking card. But then again, it would damage the other one quite a bit, so it's probably for the best.

I'm really glad this night isn't SOTF. The other night was looking pretty boring, so making that SOTF will help the overall weekend look better.

Both Davey Richards and Kenny Omega have had a strong 2009 here in Ring of Honor. For Richards, who has been here since 2006, it has without a doubt been the strongest year of his pro wrestling career. For Omega, who only made his ROH debut at “Northern Navigation” in July ’08, it’s been a year of establishing himself as a true threat.
Omega’s run truly kicked off in December 2008 with victories over Kenny King and Claudio Castagnoli at “All Star Extravaganza IV” and “Final Battle 2008” respectively. Impressive showings at “Stylin & Profilin” and “Insanity Unleashed” really started to show the ROH faithful how talented an athlete Kenny Omega is, and a victory over Austin Aries at “The Hunt Begins” cemented the Canadian as a force to be reckoned with. So after Aries captured the ROH World Title at “Manhattan Mayhem III”, fans began to wonder who would step up to challenge “A Double”. Many names got thrown out there, and chief among them was Omega as a result of that pinfall victory.
Since Aries considered that pinfall a fluke, he refused to give Omega a title match when ROH returned to Canada during “Death Before Dishonor VII” weekend. But both men tangled in a 6-Man Tag. Aries took Kenny King & Rhett Titus as his partners (both men whom Omega had defeated), while The Briscoes allied with Kenny in a victorious effort where Kenny once again pinned the ROH World Champion. If that second victory didn’t put Omega into contention than nothing was going to.
As for Davey Richards, many ROH fans have considered him the MVP of 2009 with multiple outstanding matches as a singles wrestler as well as part of the outstanding ROH World Tag Team Champion American Wolves. From “Proving Ground ‘09” to “Supercard of Honor IV” to “Double Feature II”, Richards has been on fire throughout the year, especially since he and Eddie Edwards captured the ROH World Tag Team Championship in a tables match from Kevin Steen and El Generico during episode 11 of ROH on HDNet (taped 4/10/09; aired 5/30/09). Another of Richards’ crowning moments came during a weekend when Edwards was competing in Pro Wrestling NOAH and Davey entered into the Toronto Gauntlet during “Death Before Dishonor VII, N.2”. The victor in the gauntlet would earn themselves an ROH World Title shot in the future, and in a bit of irony, it was Jimmy Rave whom Richards submitted to capture his title opportunity, the first title opportunity of his ROH career.
The gauntlet win for Richards paralleled Omega’s second pinfall victory over Austin Aries, and now the two men both stand in a position to challenge for the ROH World Title. That’s what makes this match-up in Collinsville this Friday night so intriguing. Not only is it the first meeting between these fighters here in ROH, but it may also go a long way to determine who will receive the next shot at “A Double” and the ROH World Title. Both men are extremely athletic, Davey’s a vicious striker, and Omega’s a high-flying dynamo with deceptive strength. They are both hungry, and both want a shot at Aries for very different reasons. Richards craves competition and desires to prove himself the best, Omega wants to beat some respect into Austin Aries, but ultimately it is all about the ROH World Title. Every competitor in ROH has their sights set on the most prestigious championship in pro wrestling, and this singles competition will have an immediate impact on the future of that title.

~Jim Cornette opened the show with a promo talking about how ROH is there to give the fans the wrestlers and the wrestling that they WANT to see.
1. Challenge Match

2. SHIMMER Challenge Match
SHIMMER Champion MsChif over Nicole Matthews
Austin Aries out to draw for the "A Double L Double" and the name drawn is:
DAIZEE HAZE
Delirious accompanies Haze along with Jim Cornette.
Cornette establishes Austin Aries v. Delirious for the ROH World Title officially for tonight.

4. Tag Team Challenge Match

INTERMISSION
5. Challenge Match
Kenny Omega over Davey Richards in a must see match with a small package; just hard-hitting, all action from bell to bell. (****) match and per Fanatic "this is the reason I come to shows!"
6. Tag Team Challenge Match
Kenny King & Rhett "Addicted to Love" Titus over The Young Bucks of Nick & Matt Jackson; Bucks hit "More Bang for Your Buck" on King, but Titus schoolboyed Matt for the pin and held the tights!
7. Challenge Match
Tyler Black over "That Young Knock Out Kid" Chris Hero after God's Last Gift and surviving murderous elbows from Hero.
8. Ring of Honor World Title "A Double, L Double" Match
Austin Aries (C) over Delirious to retain his title - at one point Aries did his missile dive and took out Daizee Haze on the floor. Delirious went for the aid, but Aries nailed a Brainbuster to the floor but Delirious beat the count back in the ring. Comeback was made, only to see Delirious miss Shadows Over Hell. Aries nails a kick to the head and Brainbuster again to win it.
Actually sounds like a good show, despite Delirious main-eventing it. At least Daizee gets owned in it. Dammit at Tyler going over Hero. Hoorah at King & Titus going over the Bucks. I smell a feud now. Can't wait to see Davey/Omega. WTF at Roderick apparently no-selling the Package Piledriver.

The finish to Roddy/Steen sounds all sorts of ridiculous.
Black over Hero also sounds pretty fail.
The Omega push has my attention, I was a fan of his back as a fun mid-card guy and it'll be interesting to see wether he is up to the main event push they seem to be giving him. Then again he doesdo anime moves in his matches.
Aries needs an actual fued as opposed to the LL shit imo.
