Strong is a dude who in the right situation I really enjoy and at other times makes me want to bang my head against the wall. Unlike a lot of his peers who seem to be better than a lot highly praised mainstream stars, I don't think I'd ever consider him to be a great wrestler. That said, he does have a good amount of good matches for someone I don't consider to be that impressive. I just got done watching Supercard Of Honor II and his match with Aries was great and would have been MOTN had it not been for the incredible cage match. I wouldn't say it's Strong's best match but I will say it's the best I think he's ever looked. So basically point of the thread is, what are the GREAT Roderick Strong matches? Just so people don't throw up a bunch of Gen Next tags lets try and keep this to singles competition. So far I can list:

vs Gibson - Unforgettable

vs Stevens - Final Battle 2007
vs Stevens - Respect Is Earned II
vs Stevens - SCOH III
You could probably make a case for the Lynn match too I guess, but what else is there?

I don't know if he's had any matches with Danielson since I stopped watching, but I always considered the matches at This Means War and Supercard of Honor to be really great. I'd probably put his match with Danielson at Anarchy in the UK up there too, although I may be in the minority with that one. I can't think of any more just now but I'll rack my brain and see if I can come up with anything.
Edit - What about the match with KENTA? Would you join me in my view that it's overrated? I dunno if people still look fondly upon it though.
I only find his entertaining in blood feuds, like the one against Stevens. He actually showed emotion in those matches and had someone with a similar style.

So have you seen the match with Danielson from This Means War? I'd also be inclined to agree about the Aries match being pretty underwhelming. I've got that same view about most of KENTA's matches from around that time though. Same-y, tedious and largely unexciting.
I liked KENTA vs Sydal because they did a nice job of making it more than just another indy dream match, but yeah the KENTA vs Gen Next matches (including the Honor Reclaims Boston tag) I didn't dig.
I havent seen This Means War or Anarchy In The UK. Their '07 PWG match was really average.

Their match from This Means War is a must see. I'm not in the best position to comment obviously, but I'd say it'd probably make Roddy's top 5 ROH matches pretty easily. Maybe even top 3 for me. The AITUK match is really good too, but not something I'd say you absolutely have to go out of your way to see. I'm struggling to think of any more singles matches, it's only tag stuff that keeps popping into my head.
Could throw in a few of his tag matches with Aries into the bunch. I think the match is overrated, but their match against the Briscoes in the UK is an obvious choice for one of the better matches during their tag run.
