It seems like a lot of people on here feel as if ROH won't last another year. I don't know how true that is but we'll see. With that said, supposing ROH did go under, do you think WWE would buy the ROH library? Do you think it would be something they should do?
I'm not entirely sure. They may want to do it since they like to own every library in wrestling history but I couldn't see them actually using it, supposing they did get it, unless it was hype videos for new guys.

Re: If ROH Folded.. Would/Should WWE Buy The Library?
God yes, with them not bothering to restock DVDs it would make ROH so much more accessable. Hell, if they own the library, that would essentially mean the vids could end up going back up on youtube, dailymotion, etc. Which would be good.

It's for a cheap price I'm sure they'll consider it. The more wrestling history they have the better. Especially if they do end up getting that channel.

I would say it would have some value to the E already, given CM Punk and Low-Ki (uh, Kaval). If they make Danielson and a couple others into stars, it could have a fair bit of value.
At this point, it would have more value to TNA (Samoa Joe, Homicide) but I doubt they would do anything much with it.

Re: If ROH Folded.. Would/Should WWE Buy The Library?
I think it's a bit of a No-Brainer. The ROH Video Library would cost next to nothing by WWE's standards but IMO would earn them a substantial amount of money in DVD resales if they chose to make use of their vast distribution resources. Not to mention the new subscribers it would bring to their Video On Demand services.
It would further increase their monopoly of wrestling footage and we know how much Vinnie-Mac loves a monopoly lol
Not to mention how useful it would be to WWE production staff as a tool for getting stars like Evan Bourne, Kaval and AmDrag over and the applications it would have in future compilations... like if they ever made "The Best Of CM Punk" or something.
Re: If ROH Folded.. Would/Should WWE Buy The Library?
Eddie, Rey I think (edit, I'm told it was IWA), Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Christian, Kaval, Punk, Bourne, Dragon, Steamboat, etc. all have made appearances/had matches/spent considerable time (minus a few) and WWE could use the clips.
I guess you could say the WWE may not want to showcase the ROH style too much.. but I dunno.

Re: If ROH Folded.. Would/Should WWE Buy The Library?
With the exception of ECW (Kind of), the WWE has never went out and tried to buy an indy company. For every company they have bought, it's always been about how much good it can do for the WWE. Truthfully, I'm not sure how much good owning ROH's video library would do for Vince. With the hating on WWE, Jeff Hardy's horrible reaction and very few major stars makes it seem kind of pointless. Even for someone like CM Punk, would you really want to showcase Punk at his best (Joe matches) when it only advertises another company's major wrestler? As someone else mentioned, TNA could benefit more by having it. Besides having the links in the early years, you have plenty of material to showcase Samoa Joe, Homicide, Doug Williams, Christopher Daniels, The Amazing Red, Alex Shelley, AJ Styles and Mick Foley. Hell, if they do end up pushing Hernandez hard, they have some great early material from him during the TWA/Carnage Crew feud.
