In case anyone wants it. This was easily their only standout match from their lackluster best of 5 series. Quite disappointing that it was poor. However, this match was pretty damn good.

I wouldn't say not like, but it wasn't what I'd consider good for either wrestler. When you have Homicide and Dragon wrestle, I expect some great matches. The only one that did was the final one.

Bryan Danielson vs Jushin Liger – ROH “Weekend Of Thunder: Night 1”
I’m actually *not* as high on this as most people are. That said, it is still the best Liger singles since 1997.
Unlike Kobashi, who came to ROH and gave two PPV level performances, Liger essentially turned up in ROH (both nights), ran through his spots, hit his signature moves, got his pops and then went back home. Screw that. I have no love for “dream match” style exhibitions. However, Liger is carried by A) a very dedicated Danielson and B) a very hot crowd. Now I’m sure there will invariably be some ROH marks who will call this an epic Liger performance, it wasn’t. He did his day-to-day stuff that you can see in any big Liger match. However, Danielson’s ultra-hatable heelwork, along with a rabid crowd rallying behind Liger, make it work. Danielson gives the performance of a guy trying to break out and make a name for himself as he rips at Ligers masks, taunting the fans as he beats down their hero. Liger’s comeback is by-the-numbers, but Danielson makes it look like carnage.
You will not find a better Liger singles match this decade, and it was a total carryjob.

I'll have to check that out, I've never seen that match. Admittedly, I am a Liger mark even though he hasn't done much of anything this decade, but seeing Danielson before he became HUUUUUUGE and carrying a guy like Liger sounds awesome. Usually you can't pump out a good match if someone's packing it in.
