Claudio's promo was surprisingly great until he started slipping up at the end. Must be really hard considering he speaks like 90 languages. That "I'm Claudio Castagnoli and you're not" line was awesome though. Much better than "Very European" I think.

Hero's promo was orgasmic. He's probably the only thing keeping me interested in ROH at the moment.

What was that stuff with Aries all about?

Haven't seen Corino in two years, so I am a bit intrigued about his return. Hopefully it will stew up something exciting.

October 8th: Ring of Honor returns to live action this weekend starting Friday night just outside of the St. Louis area with an event in Collinsville, IL. The show will take place at The Gateway Center, One Gateway Drive, Collinsville, IL 62234. The event starts at 8 PM. The legendary Jim Cornette will be available for a FREE meet & greet autograph session with all of the fans starting at 7 PM. The main event will see ROH World Champion Austin Aries defend the title against a competitor who will be drawn from the "Austin Aries Lucky Lottery". October 8th: We return to Indianapolis, IN this Saturday night for "Survival of the Fittest 2009" at the Indiana State Fairgrounds (Farm Bureau Building), 1202 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205. Bell time is 7:30 PM. Jim Cornette will be available for a FREE meet & greet autograph session starting at 6:30 PM. ROH World Champion Austin Aries & World Tag Team Champion Davey Richards team up to face Jay & Mark Briscoe. There will be six Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Matches with the winners to advance into a six man elimination match later in the night. The last man remaining will be the winner. October 8th: ROH World Champion Austin Aries made it known in the latest ROH Videowire (YouTube - ROH Video Wire 10/5/09) and now we have the info. Should he retain the title this weekend in suburban St. Louis, Aries will indeed defend the gold on October 24th in Warsaw, Poland for Do or Die Wrestling. This event is the first professional wrestling card presented in Poland in over 16 years. And as Aries selected at random, he will face Ruckus. October 8th: The surgery to repair the broken elbow of ROH World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards was a success and Edwards has already begun his physical therapy. We hope to have an updated timetable for his return next week.

October 8th: Tyler Black is primed and ready to return to action this weekend in Collinsville and Indianapolis, and recently did an interview with Adam Testa of the Wrestling Daily. In the piece, Black talks about a variety of subjects, most notably his neck injury and subsequent surgery, as well as being in a position to make a mark in a main event role. October 8th: Dave Prazak was at the ROH office in Bristol, PA earlier this week to work on DVD production for the Final Countdown Tour events from Dayton & Chicago. Joining Prazak on commentary was none other than "That Young Knockout Kid" Chris Hero.

October 13th: Tyler Black returned to active competition in a big way over last weekend, securing victory in St. Louis over Chris Hero in a hard fought contest. But in Indianapolis he took it to an entirely different level by winning Survival of the Fittest 2009. The main event final, lasting over 40 minutes, was a brilliant showcase for all 6 men involved, but the two men left at the end shined brightest. Roderick Strong and Black went back-and-forth, with Black finally falling Strong with a series of superkicks. The crowd was on its feet for the majority of the contest, with many pulling for Strong to win the bout. “I can’t lie,” said Black. “Roddy was unbelievable last weekend. It literally took everything I had to win, and the way Roddy kept fighting back was inspiring. I told him that night that I owed him a rematch, and I will keep my word.” Well it didn’t take long as ROH officials worked quickly. The rematch is signed for suburban Toronto! It’ll be Roderick Strong versus Tyler Black on November 14th!

October 13th: Kenny King was surprised at the aggression that Tyler Black came at him with last Saturday in Indianapolis. “I didn’t expect a big softy like Tyler to act so hard,” said King. “I know he’s still in mourning because I took out his uncle Jerry (Lynn), so I guess I should have expected it. But I really expected that he’d end up hurt and unable to compete because that seems to be his M.O. lately. But whatever, he got lucky and won that match, it’s cool. I bet you can’t catch me slippin’ again, Tyler. I challenge you to face me in Edison. C’mon Tyler, show me how tough you are.” ROH officials are awaiting Tyler’s response to King’s challenge.

October 13th: Kevin Steen sustained a knee injury in Indianapolis and is scheduled to see doctors this week. It is unknown at this point if Steen will miss any time, and we’ll have updates as they become available. October 13th: ROH World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards is a soldier. Two days after successful surgery to put a steel plate and screws into his broken arm, he was in physical therapy. In fact, doctors declined to put his arm into a hard cast, allowing Edwards to move the still-broken arm much sooner. The initial prognosis was recovery in 6-to-12 weeks, but as it looks now, Edwards should be ready for action much closer to the 6 week mark. ROH officials are closely monitoring this as it relates to the World Tag Team Title situation. Initial reports are that no changes will be made should Edwards remain on path to return sooner than later. More on this as it develops.

October 13th: Edwards’ partner in the American Wolves, Davey Richards, has been on fire in 2009, and that roll continued in suburban St. Louis where he and Kenny Omega had one for the ages. With the win, Omega was able to raise his stock. In Indianapolis, Richards fell victim to more games from Austin Aries, who essentially left Davey to the ‘wolves’ – and defeat – this time at the hands of the Briscoes. Richards was absolutely livid post-match, but Aries was nowhere to be found. Beyond both excellent matches for Richards over the weekend, one source indicated that Davey was ‘keenly aware’ of the top matches over the weekend; keeping tabs on the other top contenders to the ROH Title. We’ll have more on this as we go forward.

October 13th: Delirious had a great showing in Collinsville and Indianapolis as well, taking Austin Aries to the limit last Friday and doing well in SOTF. Now Delirious is off to Pro Wrestling NOAH to take part in Autumn Navigation 2009. We will have updates starting next week from Japan as Delirious will face the best Junior Heavyweights NOAH has to offer! Best of luck to Delirious!

October 15th: ROH officials have exchanged heated dialogue over the past few days with ROH World Champion Austin Aries. Aries predictably has once more demanded to bring the “A Double L Double” (Austin Aries Lucky Lottery) to ROH on HDNet; this time receiving resistance from both ROH and HDNet officials. It is the intention of all involved to have the ROH World Championship defended in Philadelphia against an ‘appropriate challenger’. Aries has insists that his defenses as a result of his drawing have been totally at random. ROH Executives, including President Cary Silkin and ROH on HDNet Executive Producer Jim Cornette, are working with HDNet and the ROH Booking Committee to resolve this issue. More on this to come.

October 15th: Just signed for November 7th in Edison is a huge tag team match as Kevin Steen and El Generico will look to avenge their Ladder War loss at ‘Glory By Honor VIII’ when they take on ROH World Tag Team Champion Davey Richards and his chosen partner, “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero! Can Steen and Generico redeem themselves even if the titles are not on the line, or will Richards’ reign supreme once more?

October 15th: Kenny Omega had a great showing in St. Louis and Indianapolis, and even though he ended with a split, his victory over Davey Richards is one of the biggest in his career, and he’s looking to build off of that momentum in Edison on 11/7. Omega has signed to face Sonjay Dutt, who as of late has been tangled in what is quickly becoming a bitter rivalry with Delirious and Daizee Haze. Can Dutt take his mind off of the masked lizard man long enough to take Omega to task? Or will Omega outshine Sonjay and continue his climb? Be there in Edison to see it unfold!

Just announced on the main page this morning (ROH Wrestling) are KENTA’s final two November tour matches! In suburban Detroit on November 13th, KENTA will battle Kenny Omega in singles action! And then in on the 14th, just outside Toronto, El Generico gets a shot at KENTA in a match that fans have been demanding for quite some time! October 20th: Kenny King laid out the challenge to Tyler Black for Edison; and the answer back from Black was crystal clear. “Tell him to bring it on.” Signed for November 7th is Kenny King versus Tyler Black. Black got the best of King in a back-and-forth contest en route to winning Survival of the Fittest, but his desire for the rematch is clear – revenge. Titus and King have stood between Black and Aries, not to mention King took Jerry Lynn out of ROH competition. “Any pain I feel when I get my hands on them,” said Black, “Is well worth the reward.”

October 20th: Did you see ROH World Champion Austin Aries versus Bryan Danielson last night on HDNet? If not, check YouTube - ROHBrazil's Channel later this week for the upload, and call your cable provider and tell them you want to see Ring of Honor on HDNet! Speaking of Aries, talks between him and ROH officials have been incredibly heated as it pertains to his involvement in the next set of National TV tapings in Philadelphia as well as his upcoming matches in Detroit and Toronto. We’ll have more on this later this week.

October 20th: Also signed for Edison on November 7th is an interesting match-up as Claudio Castagnoli has signed to face Jay Briscoe in one-on-one competition. ROH officials requested comments from Castagnoli and Prince Nana as to what the motivation was for requesting this match. Both men denied the request.

October 20th: Prince Nana did however issue a challenge to the Necro Butcher for Edison. “I wish for that barefooter to come pay for taking out my Crown Jewel in Chicago,” said Nana. “I have my many forces of the Embassy ready to fight that beast in Edison if he’s not afraid to get what’s coming to him.” More on this as it develops.

October 20th: A pair of outstanding matches has been signed for suburban Detroit on November 13th. The first is a perfect example of why ROH has the hottest tag team division in wrestling. Matt and Nick Jackson – The Young Bucks – will take on former ROH World Tag Team Champions Kevin Steen and El Generico! Steen has been nursing a battered knee as of late, but assured ROH officials it won’t be an issue. “My knee won’t stand in the way. Generico and I have a lot to prove, and if we can beat the Bucks it will be a great start.” In addition, two of the hottest in all of Ring of Honor collide when “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero meets Roderick Strong in singles competition. Will Hero KO the Messiah of the Backbreaker, or will Roddy continue his meteoric rise? Be there to find out!

October 20th: Shane Hagadorn will be upset to know that Hero’s competition won’t get any easier that weekend, as just signed for Mississauga, Ontario on November 14th, “That Young Knockout Kid” will take on Kevin Steen! With El Generico signed to meet KENTA, Steen wanted to raise his game and take on the toughest singles match he could. “It’s going to be a great day to be a Canadian,” said Steen. “Generico gets his dream match, and I get to avenge Hero’s ‘win’ back in July over one of my heroes – Lance Storm.” Tickets are on sale now!

October 20th: Delirious is currently on tour in Japan and competing in the Pro Wrestling NOAH Junior Heavyweight League Tournament. He competed in Sendai on back to back night scoring a victory over KENTA on the 18th and fought in a losing effort against Katsuhiko Nakajima on the 17th. We'll update his progress going forward.

October 22nd: The month of November for ROH World Champion Austin Aries might just be the toughest of his second championship reign. In Indianapolis on October 10th, he basically walked out on Davey Richards after ‘negotiating’ his way into the match with Richards against The Briscoe Brothers. Aries, who knew going in that Richards held a shot at the ROH title, still elected to ‘throw him to the wolves’, and that move may prove fatal. In suburban Detroit on November 13th, Davey Richards has exercised his right for an ROH World Title Match. It will be Richards versus Aries in the “D”! Can Richards become a double champion in Ring of Honor? Or will Aries once more find a way to prove that he’s the “greatest man who ever lived”? Get your tickets now and find out!

October 22nd: ROH officials including ROH on HDNet Executive Producer Jim Cornette are currently finalizing Aries' opponent for suburban Toronto on November 14th. The mandate has already come down: Should Aries retain against Richards in Detroit, he WILL defend the title in Toronto. Davey Richards is not scheduled for the Toronto event, and if he should walk away with the championship on 11/13, his first defense as champion will happen in December.

October 22nd: By all accounts, Delirious is having the tour of his life over in Pro Wrestling NOAH. After defeating KENTA earlier in the tour, Delirious was once more victorious, this time over Ricky Marvin. With the considerable momentum he is picking up in Japan, ROH officials are excited to see what Delirious is able to bring to the table once back in ROH. He will be on hand for the ROH on HDNet TV Tapings as well as in action when ROH returns to Edison, NJ on 11/7!

October 22nd: Those who tuned in to Ring of Honor on HDNet this past Monday saw Jerry Lynn laid out by a nasty spike piledriver from Kenny King and Rhett Titus. We’re happy to report that Jerry has made progress in his recovery and word has it that he hopes to return to ROH action “sooner than later to even the score”. Didn’t see the show? October 22nd: ROH officials are happy to announce that Asylum and Burns – The Flatliners – will make their debut on November 14th in suburban Toronto. October 22nd: After weeks of talks, Alex Koslov has elected to remain in Mexico. ROH Officials are optimistic that Koslov will appear in ROH in 2010.

I agree with Marketh when I say too soon for Davey to get a title shot, but they might be doing something like they've done in the past. Give a challenger multiple shots to make it seem like there is a good chance of him winning and in this situation, it creates a good competitive feud. It would be like Nigel/Mori 07.

October 28th: As announced yesterday on the main page at ROHWrestling.com, Kenny Omega will get his hands on Austin Aries! As Holden McNeil wrote in “You can run, but you can’t hide” (ROH Wrestling), signed for November 14th in suburban Toronto is Aries versus Omega! The only question is whether or not the ROH World Title will be on the line. Can Omega beat Aries again, but this time in a one-on-one setting? Be there on 11/14 and find out!! October 28th: Prince Nana has his new weapon and is ready to unleash him on ROH. “I have nursed a monster back to health,” said Nana. “And I will bring him to that dump, Edison, Newest Jersey. He will be along side my hired Magnum, Joey Ryan, and we will dismantle that Necro Butcher. We will avenge the blood he spilled from my crown jewel and we will unleash the full power of the Embassy!”

October 28th: Survival of the Fittest 2009 was an incredible event, and we are happy to release comments from Tyler Black upon winning the tournament. As you can see at YouTube - Tyler Black on Survival Of The Fittest 2009, Tyler refers to the controversy, more specifically whether or not Roderick Strong was able to get a shoulder up before Paul Turner counted him down for the pinfall. Tyler, as he stated in Indianapolis, reiterates his desire to give Roddy a rematch, and that match is slated for November 14th in Ontario. Be on hand to see what is sure to be a classic when Strong and Black hook up again!

October 28th: ROH World Champion Austin Aries just had to throw in his two cents (YouTube - Austin Aries sends Tyler Black a message) and at the same time fanned the flames more, opening questioning the SOTF win by Black. Should Aries hold onto the gold, he’s now obligated to defend against Black at some point, but cautioned Tyler, saying “last time you got too close, you got burned.” More on this as it develops.

October 28th: Just announced this morning on the main page; signed for suburban Detroit on November 13th is Tyler Black versus Claudio Castagnoli! Originally signed for September 18th in Dayton, OH, Black could not compete due to his neck issues resulting in surgery. As Holden McNeil finds in his piece entitled “The match that didn’t happen” (ROH Wrestling), Claudio seems to think that there is more to it. Where your opinion falls, this one is sure to play a big part in ROH’s future.

October 28th: Rumor has it that an announcement is forthcoming next week at the November 5th ROH on HDNet National Television tapings that will redefine the pecking order in Ring of Honor.

October 28th: A huge tag team match with championship ramifications has been signed for November 5th in Philadelphia as part of the ROH on HDNet Tapings. No strangers to one another by any stretch of the imagination, with countless battles and classic matches between them, now coming to HDNet – it will be Kevin Steen and El Generico versus Mark and Jay Briscoe! The winner of this match is sure to be in line for a chance at ROH World Tag Team Championship. Be there in Philly to see what happens!

October 28th: ROH on HDNet Executive Producer James E. Cornette is now promising that the ROH World Title WILL be defended on November 5th in South Philly, and that Austin Aries WILL NOT be choosing his opponent via the “A Double L Double”. Cornette has advised that he and ROH officials have already selected the challenge for Aries, and it will not disappoint!

Oh do I hope that the Race To The Top Tournament is making a return.
