They seem like good reasons to boo Hardy loudly to me.
lol..right.. Have it your way. I've been to plenty of ROH shows and there's never a lack of fans trying to get themselves over.. they're more into ridiculous chanting then they are into the matches at times..
And these are people who believe they are 'true' wrestling fans.. whatever that means.
But that's not everyone. There's also plenty of good people.
I agree, fans do try to get themselves over at any show. But everyone minus teenage girls? I don't doubt it was Hardy just being at the lowest point of his career and being a mess at the time.

The commentator who said Matthews went babyface and called Hardy's fuck up a fuck up is a horrible commentator just for that.
That's Gabe, who was the booker at the time (Chris Lovey was one of his commentary "alter egos"). ROH commentary is done in post-production, so it's not like they were doing it right on the spot. Perhaps it was a bit unprofessional, but well, look at the match they're calling, heh.

Would it matter? The very vast majority of ROH's fanbase at that time were the IWC and it was a humorous remark, calling him a babyface. Besides, I've definitely heard that term in the WWE to refer to someone who is popular with the fans. It's been a common term for a while, not just an insider thing.
