A video starts to play but is interupted with static. After a few seconds it clears to show Joey Nicholas in training. The audio is replaced by an annoying hissing sound before more static disrupts the video feed. The picture freezes and jumps about until the screen goes black. In the darkness we hear a voice issuing orders.
“Take the Garbage out!”
The familiar voice of Demon Deeds sounds commanding and not in a good mood. After a couple of seconds the picture slowly returns but of a very different place. We see a dull dark alleyway behind some building in what appears to be a deserted city. Knocked over trash cans roll down the alleyway as we hear a crashing sound ahead in the darkness. The camera starts to move up the alleyway and into the darkness where we eventually see three figures. One of which is standing back away from the other two who are on the ground engaged in a fist fight. One man gains the upper hand and smashes the back of the head of the second man into the concrete. As the camera continues to move in we see the man on top is Shadow Equinox while the other man remains unknown, his face battered and bloodied. Shadow Equinox pulls the poor defenceless man to his feet and shoves him hard against a wall before grabbing hold of his throat.
“Drive him straight to hell!”
Demon Deeds orders from the background. Equinox obliges and hoists the man up onto this shoulder before sliding him down to the front. Equinox ensures he is standing on solid concrete and nothing else before dropping his victim on his head with a Tombstone. Equinox gets in close to the face of the now lifeless man and lets a black liquid flow from his mouth and onto the face of his victim.
“That will be enough carnage for today. Come join me.”
Demon Deeds states as he turns away from the scene and heads back down the alleyway in which the cameraman entered. Shadow Equinox follows behind like a well trained dog. Demon Deeds stops suddenly and address the camera who has captured all the action as it happened.
“As you can see, my disciple has descended upon CWA like a plague, and the slaughter of the lambs, is only just beginning.”
Demon Deeds looks down at Shadow Equinox who has now moved around to the front of Deeds and remains crouched as if ready to attack on the order from Demon Deeds. The cameraman, is understandably, nervous and moves back a few paces to give himself some chance of getting away should Equinox be released upon him.
“Under my leadership and guidance, Shadow Equinox will do whatever he wants, to whoever he wants, whenever he wants, for as long as I see fit. Shadow Equinox will follow me and do exactly as I say, just like the rats who followed the pied piper and did as he would say. The best part is, there is absolutely nothing that CWA management can do to prevent this.”
Shadow Equinox starts to slowly move towards the already nervous cameraman who is caught between getting the story or saving himself. Demon Deeds continues to talk meaning the cameraman stays put.
“We don’t care about your rules, regulations, or your idea of what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is evil.”
Demon Deeds now begins to move towards the camera man as he picks up the pace with his backward steps.
“Quite simply, I am beyond good and evil. Shadow Equinox, he will obey only me, simply because I am his personal messiah. I am his God. I am the Alpha, and the Omega. The first, and the last. The beginning, and the end. Consider yourself warned. Prepare, for the Apocalypse in CWA.”
Demon Deeds quickly raises his right arm and points to the camera which is instantly attacked by Shadow Equinox. The cameraman is knocked onto the ground as the camera tumbles through the air. The camera lands with a loud thud resulting in it exploding into several dozen pieces.

The camera fades in to show us a dark, dull and depressing room. No light other than what little can force its way through the boarded up window in the far corner of the room. In the middle of the room hangs a punching bag. Working over the punching bag is the man we know as Shadow Equinox. Standing behind the bag is his mentor Demon Deeds. Equinox viciously punches the bag until Deeds waves for him to stop. The order is followed immediately.
Demon Deeds: Frankie Enzo, tonight you will meet your maker. Tonight, you will step into the ring with the most feared individual on the CWA roster and you will not step back out. Shadow Equinox has trained for many, many years and he is not going to allow somebody like you to stand in the way of his destiny, or in the way of mine. I worked my way up in this business but never got my rewards. Shadow Equinox is going to avenge that for me. Joey Nicholas, you managed to somehow escape In Exile with your championship in tact. But, believe me, you will not be leaving Hostile Takeover as the champion. You wont even be leaving as a wrestler, nor even a man. You will be leaving as a shell of your former self. The ego will be vanquished, the arrogance replaced with humility, the potential replaced with fear. Joey Nicholas pay very close attention to the match tonight, seeing as you have gotten yourself a front row seat, that shouldn’t be a problem. Keep your eyes open and your senses alert, and don’t even consider turning your back on Shadow Equinox at any point tonight. You have something we want, we will take it at any cost. Joey Nicholas, Frankie Enzo, you have been warned.
Demon Deeds turns back to the punching bag and turns it slightly so that we can see two photographs stuck onto it. One that has been punched until it rips of Frankie Enzo, the other has yet to be touched and shows the current CWA Lightweight Champion Joey Nicholas. As the camera zooms in closer, Equinox takes the first punch as the picture of Nicholas and quickly follows up with several more as the camera fades to black.

We open in what resembles a boiler room. Dark, dull and no signs of life, human or otherwise. As the cameraman carefully navigates his way around the darkened room we near a noise in the background. The camera frantically turns around but see’s only darkness. Another noise is heard coming from the other side of the room causing the cameraman to once again spin around to try and catch out the perpetrator. The cameraman has some success as we can now see the silhouette of a tall figure in the distance. The cameraman slowly makes his way closer and closer until we see the identity of the figure. What little natural light can break through the dust covered windows shines onto his face and highlights certain features. At this point it has become clear that the figure is none other than Demon Deeds.
Demon Deeds: Ever since I brought Shadow Equinox into my world, the wrestling world, I have been waiting for him to succeed. I have been waiting patiently and unfortunately for him, I’m starting to run out of patience. During my illustrious career I was unbeaten. Shadow Equinox meanwhile has lost more than he has won. Tonight, we set off for Hostile Takeover. Tonight, is Judgement Day in my personal calendar. Equinox has had several chances and followed up with several failures. I am not prepared to sit back and let him damage my hard earned reputation. I have made a strong decision. A decision that may not be popular with anyone, but it was my decision in the end. Should Shadow Equinox fail his next test, on this day, on Judgement Day, he shall be sent back to hell. Shadow Equinox has failed several times to defeat Joey Nicholas, once more and he will be a failure at life. Once more and he will move from being a loser to being an embarrassment. Shadow Equinox, tonight is your last chance. Tonight, you need to put all the thoughts out of your head and be 100% focused on your mission. Your mission, is to destroy Joey Nicholas and rape his soul. This may be Judgement Day for Shadow Equinox, but if I have anything to say about, the same will be applied to Joey Nicholas. By the end of tonight, at least one of you, will be going to hell. I don’t care which of you takes the fall, but someone, will feel my wrath. Joey Nicholas, Shadow Equinox, you have been warned.
With that, Demon Deeds looks up at the small glimmer of light breaking into the room and remains motionless as the cameraman wisely backs up and leaves Deeds to his own twisted thoughts.

We open the scene in what looks to be a basement meaning one thing. Shadow Equinox or Demon Deeds must be near. Soon enough, we see both men in the distance. As we get closer we see Demon Deeds is still pissed about the result of Shadow Equinox’s previous bout in CWA as he is verbally ripping into his student. Deeds finishes his shouting and punches Equinox in the face. Equinox falls to the floor as Deeds storm away. The camera zooms in on Equinox and we see some blood flowing out of his mouth from the punch he received moments ago. Equinox spit’s the blood out and stares into the darkness before speaking for the first time.
Equinox: How much more am I going to allow myself to take. How much more before this stops being educational, and starts becoming abuse. Not much, not much at all.
Equinox gets back to his feet and wipes the remnants of blood away from his mouth before again spitting more blood out of his mouth.
Equinox: I looked up to you, looked up like a son looks up to his father. But when that father beats the son, it changes everything. I admired you, and this is how you treat me?
Equinox talks to himself seemingly unaware of the camera’s presence.
Equinox: I have had just about enough of this. Demon Deeds, you will regret the decision to unleash me. You will regret the decision to make me your messenger. You have done this to yourself you hypocrite. Punching me in the face? Do you forget what you made of me? It is impossible for me to experience pain, and you made me this way Deeds. You made me. But now that I’m not living up to your standards, you want to dispose of me like some waste material?
Shadow Equinox moves away from the darkness and begins to creep towards a figure on the far side of the room. Equinox continues to mumble to himself as he goes.
Equinox: In your own words, I’m indestructible. I don’t feel pain, I don’t feel sympathy, I don’t feel compassion, I now no longer experience admiration either. I will not allow you to treat me like this anymore. I am taking a stand. I am fighting back.
Shadow Equinox gets behind the figure and puts his hand on his shoulder.
Equinox: Tonight, this life comes to an end and I begin a new life. A life wherein I control my own destiny. A life without you.
Shadow Equinox spins the figure around to reveal that it is only a coat and a hat on a coat rack.
Equinox: One day, one day I will stand up to you. One day. One day soon.
Shadow Equinox slowly walks back into the darkness to end the scene.

The scene opens in what is fast becoming the locker-room of the duo known as Shadow Equinox and Demon Deeds. A dark, dull and depressing basement, isolated from society with its only connection to the modern world being the dim ray of light that is battling to break through the dust and moss covered two foot by one foot window situated high on the far wall. The rest of the room remains in near complete darkness. A punching bag hands from a rusting RSJ, a battered and thorn picture of former CWA Lightweight Champion Joey Nicholas still taped to it. A pair of discarded boxing gloves hand beside it as they are quickly being taken over by the dust. As the camera slowly pans around the dull room, it captures two silhouettes in the distance. One is standing while the other is on the ground doing what appears to be sit-ups. As the camera gets closer we begin to hear voices but as of yet are unable to make them out. The closer we get the clearer both the figures and voice become. Shadow Equinox is indeed doing sit up’s as Demon Deeds stands and counts aloud.
Demon Deeds: Nine hundred and ninety eight, nine hundred and ninety nine, one thousand.
Shadow Equinox falls backwards and instantly brings his hands to what must be burning abs from a long work out.
Demon Deeds: I’ll make a champion out of you yet. You have two minutes before we move on to the next exercise.
Demon Deeds then steps over his student and heads to the far side of the room while the camera stays on the hurting figure of Shadow Equinox. Equinox slowly sits back up, still holding his abs, before he finally gets to his feet. Equinox looks in the direction Deeds went before he begins to speak to himself.
Shadow Equinox: You wont make anything out of me you egomaniacal waste of space. You didn’t help me last week against Kennif leBlanch, and I know you are only helping me now because you know I can beat Ralph McCoy. I can beat that kid without your help, without your torturous regime, without your constant degradation of my body, mind and spirit. Just you wait and see, wait, wait and wonder. Wonder if I am still under your control, or have you lost me already. Ralph McCoy will be wondering. Ralph McCoy will be wondering what he has done to deserve such a vicious beating at my hands.
Shadow Equinox then slowly begins to walk after Demon Deeds while still talking in his usual low voice.
Shadow Equinox: The day is drawing near Demon Deeds. The day of reckoning, your Armageddon, my emancipation, it draws near. You will not be able to control me for much longer you self cantered coward. It’s coming, believe me, its coming.
Shadow Equinox finally catches up with Demon Deeds on the other side of the room where he is testing the strength of a support beam hanging from the ceiling.
Demon Deeds: Pulls ups, one thousand, get to it.
The scene slowly fades out as Shadow Equinox grabs the beam and starts to pull himself up and lower himself back down several times without stopping.

Out of the dark basement for the first when not wrestling, we see Shadow Equinox taking a nice slow walk around the backstage area of the arena. Right now it is quite, calm and peaceful, but in only a few short hours it will be chaos as Adrenaline Rush is aired live around the world. Shadow Equinox continues to walk at his own pace, having seemingly removed a great weight from his shoulders last week. Shadow Equinox appears to feel the same way as he speaks for the first time since that incident.
Shadow Equinox: Tonight symbolizes a first in my life. For the first time in my existence, I am alone. No-one to help me out, no-one to train me, no-one to watch my back. But, the best part of me being alone is not any of those reasons, the best part is instead the fact that I no longer have a bitter washed up leech ordering me around. No-one to use me, abuse me, physically, verbally, mentally. I may be alone, but I refuse to take that as a negative for I am no longer a pessimist. Yes, I am now alone, but, I am now also free of the shackles that were locked in place many years ago by Demon Deeds.
Shadow Equinox thinly smiles as he continues to walk and talk seemingly to himself.
Shadow Equinox: Demon Deeds. For as long as I can remember, he has been there, in some way, shape or form. There to feed on the misery and suffering of others. Mostly my misery and suffering. There to manipulate and take advantage of young, weak, impressionable minds. Speaking from experience, it is a torture so dire, that you shall not wish it upon even your worst of enemies. However, despite the oh so many negatives, my experience has bloomed some positives. I have for example, been trained to military like standards. I have been breed to ignore pain and to continue fighting in spite of the potential harm to my own wellbeing. It is this training that shall henceforth aid me in my new life. My new life as a free man. It shall aid me in my second chance. My second chance that begins tonight when I face Don de Vries.
Shadow Equinox smirks at this thought before once again continuing his soliloquy.
Shadow Equinox: Don, tonight you shall find out, exactly what it is that I am capable of. What I am capable of now that I have exercised the demons who had previously taken up residence inside my head. While I may now have a new outlook on life, don’t for a second think that I have a new outlook on competing. Don, don’t be so foolish as to convince yourself that I will be a pushover tonight. Last week I made a stand, this week, I continue that stand as I take back control. The control of my own life and destiny. I control my own destiny, it sounds odd to hear myself say that, but it is true, for the first time ever, I am in control of my own actions. Don, tonight you will be transformed from a talented wrestler, into the first step on my road to fulfilment. But Don, do not worry, for you will be an integral part of my road, for at the end of my road, destiny awaits, and I don’t plan on keeping it waiting too much longer.
Shadow Equinox pushes open the exit door as he steps outside into the warmth of summertime in daytime Miami. Equinox takes a couple of seconds of basking in the sunlight before heading off towards the town off in the distance.

W/ Ralph McCoy vs Jay Walters and Don de Vries

A video package plays that starts with a lot of static and a very jumpy picture. After a few seconds the static disappears but the picture quality remains poor. A few more seconds pass before it settles down and we can see Shadow Equinox, sitting alone in the basement of the CWA Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The camera takes it’s time zooming in on the dark face of Shadow Equinox.
Shadow Equinox: I thought I had finally exercised the leech known as Demon Deeds but it appears I was a little premeditated in that assumption. If the backstage chitter chatter is to be believed, Demon Deeds has not crawled back into his hole in the ground but has instead crawled inside the head of CWA Owner, Charles Anderson. From what I hear, Demon Deeds is looks for a match with me at Meltdown. A match in which he surely plans to stop what he began all those years ago in a dungeon in Serbia.
Shadow Equinox lowers his head into his hands for a few seconds before running his hands down the length of his face and off the end of his chin. Equinox raises his head once again and continues to speak.
Shadow Equinox: It was in that dungeon that I learned some very valuable lessons in life. It was in that dungeon that I learned more than Demon Deeds thought possible. I studied every day and every night on top of the brutal training regime that he put myself and several other misguided souls through. Unlike the others, I have seen the error of his ways and have tried to emancipate myself from him. I tried, but seemingly have not succeeded, yet.
Shadow Equinox gets up from his seated position and stretches his legs out before he starts to pace back and forth. Several seconds pass of silence only broken by the footsteps of Equinox. Equinox slows his pace down, then stops.
Shadow Equinox: That dungeon was literally hell on earth. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about going back to Serbia to demolish it to free the poor helpless students that Demon Deeds has tricked and manipulated into joining him. It’s kind of funny when I think about it, not ha-ha funny, but funny none the less. At the time I didn’t think much of it, I thought of it as a throw away statement that didn’t mean anything, it wasn’t until years later, when I finally put all the broken pieces back together that it made sense to me. One of the very first things I was told in Serbia was by Demon Deeds himself. It did not relate to training in any way, hence why I didn’t take note of it. Demon Deeds claimed that a very popular song was written about his life. Back then, the lyrics didn’t make any sense as I failed to see his true colours. But now, they all make sense.
Equinox looks up towards the small one foot wide, 6 inch high window that is thick with dust and grime from being captured in the dark, desolate basement for so long. Equinox looks through the stained glass and smiles.
Shadow Equinox: “Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste.” That opening line I was able to make sense of all those years ago. Demon Deeds was a man with a vast fortune that he used to build a gym in his home. The taste was proven in the students he selected to train. At the time it was free membership pending approval, but as we have grown older, I have realised that nothing is free in this life. I did not realise at the time but when I signed up for the training regime, I signed my life away. I spent the best part of my life as little more than a prisoner. It has taken a lot for me to see the light. I always assumed that our training routine was normal. But when I came to CWA my eyes opened. I was like a blind man having been gifted the vision of sight. It wasn’t just the CWA fans that opened my eyes, it was also the CWA superstars, in particular those who compete in the X-Fly division. I saw the unity that people like Dr. Jack Adams and my partner tonight Ralph McCoy has been able to develop in such a short period of time. When I tried to bring unity up in training, I was punished and told to do exactly what I was told if I wanted to achieve success. So like a fool I did.
Equinox’s head again drops but this time he doesn’t have his hands up to catch it. Equinox stares at the floor for several seconds before raising his head and again speaking.
Shadow Equinox: “I’ve been around for a long, long year, stole many a man’s soul and faith.” The second line could not be more fitting for one Demon Deeds. He doesn’t seem to age at all, he still looks exactly like when I first met him. The second part, I really should not need to explain. Anyone who has been paying attention to CWA since he and I arrived will have seen what he is like and how he treats everyone else. While I no longer agree with or even condone his methods, I do have to admit that they have helped me. They have helped me inside the ring, but have tormented me outside. Inside the ring I am free, and at my best. Don de Vries and Jay Walters will find that out first hand tonight. Outside the ring, I wallow in my own messed up head, trying in vain to come up with some way to cleanse my soul. Beating my fellow X-Fly Division wrestlers from one side of Atlanta to the other, wont get that done. Demon Deeds, I sincerely hope that you are able to convince Charles Anderson to make a match between us for Meltdown. I now feel that I may need that match to put my demons to rest once and for all. Don de Vries, Jay Walters, Demon Deeds, you are all going to help me out. You are all going to be steps on my road to destiny. You are all going to hell.
Shadow Equinox walks past the camera man and out of view as the camera slowly fades out.
