Imageready helps with it alot. It is 100x's better than gimp, with .gif's.

I kind of like it, Personaly I think it would look better without the Checkers over the Gif imo

EDIT: But yeah, I love it. The colours and blending is great and I actually quite like the checkered pattern over the .gif. Great job.
