Layer > Adjustment Layer > Brightness and Contract to change the light settings and what not.
When you've got the placement of the PSD you like and whatever brushes or text...
Make a new layer. Go to Image > Apply Image. It'll get everything on that layer. Then go to Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen. And click okay. And just change layer settings from 100% to whatever if it seems too sharp for you in the layer palette..
