Former WWE Tough Enough winner Daniel Puder was also briefly part of the stable in January 2008 but quietly departed Ring of Honor when they could not afford to use him at every show. The storyline being that Sweeney is holding him out of action until he is paid more money. In February 2008 he declared a hostile takeover attempt of Ring of Honor, and has signed Adam Pearce, Brent Albright and Shane Hagadorn in the wake of this declaration.
On April 11, 2008, he signed Eddie Edwards into the group as well.
On May 10, 2008 Brent Albright quit the group following a loss where he and Chris Hero dropped a Scramble Match to Delirious and Pelle Primeau (also included were Jack Evans and Ruckus). Sweeney ordered him to beat down Bobby Dempsey with the rest of the group but instead he delivered suplexes to every member aside from Sweeney who escaped from the ring.
On June 6, 2008 Sweeney made an offer to No Remorse Corps leader Roderick Strong to join him in his stable. Strong declined as he had done in the past only to find himself attacked and beaten down by his NRC stable mate Davey Richards. Richards proceded to tear away his NRC t shirt to reveal he was wearing a Sweet N'Sour Inc. shirt underneath, joining the stable.
On June 28, 2008 in Chicago Ridge, IL Sweeney proudly welcomed the newest member of Sweet N'Sour Inc, Go Shiozaki into the fold as well as welcome back returning member Tank Toland.
On August 2, 2008 in New York City Adam Pearce lost his NWA World Title to Brent Albright after submitting to the Crowbar
To date, Sweeney has wrestled only two matches in ROH; he competed in a six-man tag in spring 2008 and holds a singles victory over Cladio Castagnoli from Final Battle 2007. He is the only wrestler undefeated in singles competition in ROH. His largely non-wrestling role in ROH earned him the 2007 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for Best Non-Wrestler of the year.
On October 19, 2008 Sweeney made an appearance at SHIMMER Women Athletes taping, the sister promotion of ROH. He cutting a promo about how his client in ROH Sara Del Rey would get her SHIMMER Championship rematch in Ring of Honor. Later in the evening he would pull Del Rey out of the ring to save her from MsChif and Serena Deeb. This was the first time a male wrestler had been featured on the main show of a SHIMMER card and the first time a male manager had appeared on the show.

Marella and Carlito began a feud with Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes over the World Tag Team Championship. During the title match Roddy Piper distracted Marella who was then defeated. Marella started a feud with Piper, including a confrontation on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
On the July 14, 2008 episode of Raw, Marella was defeated by WWE Diva Beth Phoenix in an intergender match, after Marella issued an open challenge to the entire Raw roster.[29] The angle continued the following week after Marella lost to the returning D'Lo Brown. Marella and Phoenix shared a kiss, both expressing considerable confusion afterwards.[30] In later weeks, they became an on-screen power couple, later dubbed the portmanteau Glamarella (for Glamazon and Marella). At SummerSlam 2008, Marella won the Intercontinental title for a second time, where he teamed with Phoenix against champion Kofi Kingston and WWE Women's Champion Mickie James. Phoenix pinned James after hitting her Glam Slam, thus winning both titles for her team per the pre-match stipulation.[31]
During his second reign, Marella started a quest to be the "greatest Intercontinental champion of all the times" by beating the Honky Tonk Man's record reign of 64 weeks, constantly bringing out a status report called the "Honk-A-Meter". At Cyber Sunday 2008, Marella defended the Intercontinental title against the Honky Tonk Man (who won the majority of fan's votes, beating fellow former champions Roddy Piper and Goldust), losing by disqualification. On the November 10 episode of Raw, Marella lost the title to William Regal and so failed to reign as champion for more than 64 weeks.

Santino Marella. Sweeney is always gold on the mic but at the same time, his wrestling isn't his strongest point. The same could easily be said about Santino, but Santino has more in ring accolades at least.

The Battle of Character over ability.... same as what Ken said really. Plus we really cant ignore the danger Santino has put his genitals in for our amusement... Santino takes it...
Re: Wrestler Of The Year 2008: Round One Match Four
I'm going to give the nod to Sweeney just because he's helped others far more than Santino has. Most of the guys in Sweet 'N Sour wouldn't be nearly as over if it wasn't for their association with Sweeney. Bobby Dempsey has benefited so much from the faction. He's to a point where I feel as if he can make it on his own. Eddie Edwards is a star on the rise while Davey Richards is getting a little more focus than he had in NRC.
Maybe if Santino could produce ONE good match in the WWE, I could consider giving him the vote. But as long as he's nothing more than a comedic wrestler, I'll give the vote to Sweeney.

Re: Wrestler Of The Year 2008: Round One Match Four
I voted for Sweeney basically for the same reason as Jim. Santino is just for comedic value, but Sweeney has been able to put guys over and have them be shown either with SNS or against them. Plus, Sweeney is funnier then Santino imo anyways.

Re: Wrestler Of The Year 2008: Round One Match Four
I think the difference in this one is actually Wrestling Ability. Santino is known to loose because of the character he has and it should be that way but with Sweeney, He has the skills inside the ring to get over in ROH if they ever wanted to have him become a singles star. Just look at his stuff from Chickara and the guy can wrestle just as well as he can talk on the microphone. Sweeney has done more like what Jim said though to help get more talent over than what Santino has done and thats where the other major difference comes in.
