La Familia also saw the inclusion of Chavo Guerrero, and on the January 22, 2008 broadcast of ECW on Sci Fi, Edge assisted Chavo in winning the ECW Championship from CM Punk,[83] who had previously rebuffed Edge[84] and allied himself with Rey Mysterio, Edge's scheduled opponent at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.[85] The group eventually came under the name of La Familia. Edge then cut a promo mocking Raw's lack of a world champion, as WWE Champion Triple H had also been drafted to SmackDown! the previous week, and proceeded to leave. Batista, who was upset over his controversial loss to Edge at Night of Champions, however, stopped Edge from leaving and attacked him. CM Punk then took advantage of Edge's weakened stature, cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and defeated Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship, thus ending Edge's third World Heavyweight Championship reign.[92]

On the special July 4, 2008 edition of SmackDown!, Edge took his frustrations out on Vickie because he lost his title and told her the wedding was off.[93] The following week, however, after Guerrero saved Edge from a Con-chair-to by The Big Show, Edge re-proposed, and the wedding was back on.[94] On July 18, 2008 at the wedding reception, Triple H came out and showed a video of Edge cheating on Guerrero the day before with the wedding planner, Alicia Fox. The angle continued at The Great American Bash when Fox attempted to hand Edge the WWE Championship belt to use as weapon, but was stopped with a clothesline by Guerrero. Edge attempted to spear Triple H but hit Vicky Guerrero instead. Triple H used this distraction to recover and hit a Pedigree to retain his title.[95] Edge would attempt to apologize to Vickie even though he was seen talking to Fox, where she revealed to him that she had rehired The Undertaker and that Edge would face him in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam.[96] Edge then turned on La Familia during the August 8 edition of SmackDown!, and delivered a One man con-chair-to on Chavo in the ring, and tossed Guerrero out of her wheelchair,effectively disbanding the stable. The next week Edge tortured Guerrero the entire night by in his words, taking her on a ride to hell. Around the end of the night, Edge forced Vickie to apologize to The Undertaker for what she did to him. He also mentioned to Guerrero, that it was because of her that La Familia suffered.[97] Edge lost to The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam, and after the match, Undertaker chokeslammed Edge off the top of a ladder and through the ring canvas, with flames rising from the hole.

On November 23 at Survivor Series, Edge returned to WWE after an introduction by SmackDown General Manager and his on-screen wife Vickie Guerrero, replacing Jeff Hardy in the Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship involving the champion Triple H and SmackDown newcomer Vladimir Kozlov. He pinned Triple H to become the WWE Champion for the third time in his career.[98] This title reign was short lived as Edge lost the WWE Championship to Jeff Hardy at the 2008 Armageddon pay-per-view in a Triple Threat match, which also featured Triple H, making his third title reign an equal length to his first at 21 days. Edge will face Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship at the 2009 Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

On December 23rd, 2008, WWE Home Video released "Edge, A Decade Of Decadence", a 3-disc DVD set that showcased Copeland's first 10 years in the WWE. This collection features a total of 28 matches against many top opponents including Owen Hart, Mr. Perfect and Eddie Guerrero.

After Rhino was injured, Storm started a feud with Eric Young over who was the better drinker. Young won Storm's "Drinking Championship Belt" and held it for two months before losing it back to Storm in a ladder match. Following this Rhino made his return from injury and proceeded to deliver a Gore to Storm, challenging him to an Elevation X match. As the ladder match with Eric Young had demonstrated, Storm has a (kayfabe) fear of heights, a major disadvantage in Elevation-X. After teasing a walk-out Storm did in fact compete in the match and after attempting to hide inside of the scaffold structure, Storm ended up losing the match and falling through a table in the ring below. Following a couple of weeks off to (kayfabe) heal his injuries, Storm returned on the live March 27 episode of Impact! and attacked Sting with a beer bottle. On the April 4 edition of Impact!, Matt Morgan allowed Storm to join Team Tomko making it a 5 on 4 match (until Matt Morgan himself joined Team Cage). At Lockdown, Storm, along with Team Tomko lost their match against Team Cage. Storm was then announced as one of the "Egotistical Eight" to participate in the Deuces Wild Tournament, and he would have to team up with a random partner, who was later to be revealed as his bitter rival, Sting. Storm then faced Sting in a "No Disqualification" match that Sting won. At Sacrifice, Sting and Storm lost to Team 3D.

Beer Money in London September 2008On the June 12 edition of Impact, Storm, along with Robert Roode, challenged Latin American Exchange (LAX) for the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Storm and Roode were successful in winning the match following a Last Call from Storm to Hernandez with a belt wrapped around his boot. Hector Guerrero (LAX's manager), who was at ringside however, informed the referee about what happened and the match was restarted. LAX ended up retaining the titles following a Border Toss from Hernandez to Storm. After the match, Storm, Roode and Jacqueline handcuffed LAX to the ring posts, and then proceeded to whip them with leather belts. Later that night they challenged LAX to retaliate. The next week on Impact!, LAX challenged Storm and Roode to a Fan's Revenge Match at Victory Road for the titles. The team of Storm and Roode (now known as "Beer Money") lost to the Motor City Machine Guns in one match and Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash in another match later in the July 3 episode of Impact!. At Victory Road, LAX retained the titles. At Hard Justice, Beer Money defeated LAX after Storm hit Homicide with a beer bottle and won the TNA World Tag Team Championship for the first time individually and as a team. At No Surrender Beer Money Inc defeated LAX to retain the titles and on the next Impact! they defeated LAX again this time having Hector Guerrero disbanding for LAX. At Bound for Glory IV, Beer Money Inc won the Monster's Ball Match against Matt Morgan and Abyss, Team 3D and LAX to retain the titles.
