Survivor Series 2005
Quite a good recap to start the show, the Raw Vs. Smackdown feud has been acceptable. Joey Style’s is alongside Jonathon Coachman for the Raw commentary team. Michael Cole and Tazz are the Smackdown Commentary team. Tazz and Jerry have a little trash talk.
United States Championship: Best Of 7 Series: Booker T w/ Sharmell Vs. Chris Benoit.
Commentators: Michael Cole and Tazz
Sharmell comes out to introduce ‘Her Man.’ Booker comes out and they do their usual routine. The fans seem literally dead tonight and no emotion is shown until Benoit comes out and he gets a little cheer. Michael Cole and Tazz both debate who won the match the night before where Booker suplex’s Chris off the top rope and Booker’s leg gets rapped into Benoit’s leg and after the 3 count the two referees’ argue. They have a shot tussle. Benoit chants are heard throughout the building. Tazz puts over Sharmell and her ‘beauty’. Cole reminds us of the next match in this series will take place at the next Smackdown, which really makes me feel that we’re being done by since this match we are paying for. The end however comes when Booker moves out of the way from a flying head but and rolls him up as Sharmell holds Booker’s feet for the pin at 14 minutes. Michael Cole screams as Booker and Sharmell walk out.
Winner: Booker T Via Pinfall.
Eric Bischoff is shown preparing for his match later tonight against Teddy Long. Vince wishes Eric good luck. Eric brings up Vince’s screw job, and talks about Cena being screwed. Then strangely enough John Cena is standing behind him. Cena makes a silly comment and Bischoff walks off showing no emotion. McMahon and Cena talk and McMahon walks off. McMahon walks past Booker saying ‘******’ and Booker shouts ‘tell me he did not just say that.’
Women’s Championship: Interpromotional match: Trish Stratus w/ Mickie James Vs. Melina w/ Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro
Commentators: Tazz and Joey Styles
Trish goes straight after Melina after both make their entrance. Joey makes a comment about Smackdown liking to abduct people which get a Lol from me. Quite a good match, and the end comes when Trish climbs the ropes, Give’s Melina a bulldog and scores the pin! Mickie congratulates Trish as the two announcers argue about Mickie’s interfering.
Winner: Trish Stratus w/ Mickie James.
Strange how Styles and Tazz were shouting and Tazz vowed never to work with Styles again… Funny how these things work out isn’t it?
A plug for Jake The Snake’s DVD. We get introduced to Dmitri young. HHH is shown backstage rapping tape around his arms. Triple H Vs. Rick Flair is next.!
HHH Vs. Rick flair in a Last Man Standing Match.
This match seems like the type of feud that has been happening recently between Jericho and Michaels. HHH doesn’t even wait until Flair has his robe off. Flair looks tired and its only 5 minutes in. Triple H and Flair battle through the crowd and as they come back into the ringside area Joey Styles makes the comment ‘He landed on that kendo stick’ Even though the stick was nowhere near where he fell. HHH grabs an object and makes Flair bleed. I believe the object was a screwdriver. After some inring action and some object-hitting-flesh action HHH garbs the sledgehammer and hits Flair straight over the head. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10! HHH wins Via Count out!
Winner: Triple H via Count out!
HHH taunts Flair and shows no remorse. The fans are utterly shocked and the one’s who show emotion are clapping Triple H. Now we get a Bret Hart DVD plug. Trish and Mickie follow Todd Grisham to the WWE Fan Access. Smackdown are having a pep talk backstage. Orton takes charge and makes all the other Smackdown Team ready.
Edge’s Scene with Dmitri.
Edge walks out with Lita. The announcers all question why he is here. Edge calls out Dmitri and insults him. The crowd boo Edge and this is one of the occasions tonight that I’ve actually seen fans participate. Edge makes a steroid remark and a cheeseburger remark. Edge then continues to insult the fans. This is another award winning promo by Edge. He even provokes a chant. Lita grabs the mic. Edge confuses Dmitri with Mark Henry. Lita goes out to Dmitri. Lita vows that Edge has balls rofl. Lita and Edge run off as Dmitri makes a comment about the World Title. What a crappy way to ruin this promo.
World Championship: Kurt Angle Vs. John Cena
Referee: Daivari
Commentators: Joey Styles, Jerry Lawler and Jonathon Coachman.
Kurt makes his way to the ring and Mr. Bischoff has censored the word Suck. Cena makes his way to the ring with cheers throughout the room. This must be one of the last times Cena gets a ovation like this. Styles sais that 8 out of 11 titles has been changed in SS history. Well how does that put Angle in the drivers seat? What does is Daivari. The end came when Cena pulled an FU out on Kurt and got the pin as another referee came running to his aid.
Winner: John Cena
Eric Bischoff Vs. Teddy Long
Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz, Joey Styles, Jerry Lawler and Jonathon Coachman
I’m not even going to comment on such a bad match. What happened well, Bogeyman came out and slammed Bischoff causing Teddy to pin Bischoff.
Winner: Teddy Long
They show a promo of the Raw Vs. Smackdown feud.
Raw Vs. Smackdown
Randy Orton, Batista, JBL, Rey Mysterio and Bobby Lashley Vs. Chris Masters, Carlito, Kane, Big Show and Shawn Michaels.
Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz, Joey Styles, Jerry Lawler and Jonathon Coachman
Batista first one out, Tazz and Cole question his health. JBL comes out next with Jillian Hall.
Next is Mysterio who is followed by Bobby Lashley. Orton comes out last to some cheers.
Now for the Raw team, Shawn Michaels comes out first. Then Carlito. Now Chris Masters. Lashley was eliminated early however after a Kane choke slam. That was really bad, Carlito or Chris Masters should have been one of the first to go, not Bobby lashley. Shortly after Kane gets hit with a Batista spine buster and gets eliminated. Still Carlito and Chris Masters are in. Batista then turned around and got hit with a double choke slam by Kane And Big Show. Kane re-entered the ring by the way. So Batista, Lashley and Kane are all out. after quite a lot of moves Show was eliminated by Mysterio. Finally Carlito is eliminated after JBL clothes lined him. Mysterio soon after hit the dropping’ the dime on Masters which said goodbye to him. Michael as the only member of team Raw eliminated JBL and Mysterio soon after. Orton and Michaels are left. After a fantastic battle, which was really the best action of the night, JBL re-entered the ring and cost Raw as after one little distraction from JBL, Orton hit the RKO and Team Smackdown picked up the victory as Orton pinned Michaels for the win!
Winners: Team Smackdown.
After the match, the bong goes and druids come out carrying a casket. We all now know that this is the return of the man who Orton set on fire a couple of shows before. Undertaker emerges and attacks some superstars as Orton and his father Bob flee from the ring. Taker stares at Orton as the show goes off the air.
John’s Opinion:
Best Match: The Team Raw Vs. Team Smackdown Battle.
Worst Match: Teddy Long Vs. Eric Bischoff.
Comments: This wasn’t a bad PPV. The General Manager’s battle ruined it and put a damper on things.
