Isn't ROH like Old Style ECW? Not with the extreme but i mean how its all set out, ROH is still working in basement-like buildings and dont have a TV deal and dont have a huge fan base, and then i thought WCW like TNA? TNA is considered the second best promotion just like WCW has always been remembered, and also WCW stole WWF talent, TNA have alot of WWE's Talent on their roster. Co-incidence? what do you guys think?
ROH isn't really working in basement style buildings. ECW did have a TV deal, didn't they? And ROH does have a pretty decent sized fan base, as did ECW. I really see no comparison.

I get what your saying, and I agree for the most part, but your analysis of ROH is..eh..
well, they're not really working "basement-like" buildings, and their fanbase is getting larger. They do have a PPV deal, which ECW also had before getting TV..
so yeah, I get your comparison

It's more so an average fan view. Someone who hasn't learned much about it to be honest.
A light comparison but somewhat true. TNA is the second largest US Promotion, much like WCW was (well at times the largest but... go with it To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. WCW had a lot of older guys on top, much like TNA has (not always). The comparisons are well founded from a distance, but obviously things are different.

ROH is like ECW in the fact it caters for a niche market, the 'IWC'. That's the only real reason they struggle to get on TV, because their product isn't intended or doesn't appeal to the masses.
Like WCW, TNA company lacks no real direction, booking is a clusterfuck (yet interesting) and great opportunities have been missed (Joe winning the World title at Lockdown) and the company trying to appeal to a mass market. Only difference is that TNA is nowhere near the level WCW was. <,<

Really? I always thought it was because Gabe and company never tried to get a TV deal. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

You'd have to be pretty blind to not see the comparisons. Lots of former ROH alumni went on to be signed by TNA, much to the dismay of the ROH fans. TNA, whilest not on the level on WCW in terms of popularity, they are the second top promotion in America... and they have alot of ex-WCW talent... and they sign as many ex-WWE guys as they can... and their booking is extremely similar to WCW's in its dying days (it makes no sense and expects you to believe the most retarded of logic). Both ROH and ECW were the third top companys, who supplied talent to both the bigger companys (Punk, Joe, etc) and they were both glorified indy feds that thrived from their core fanbase. Even in their differences, ECW and ROH are similar. ECW specialised in "hardcore" wrestling, but when they decided to have a "straight" match it would be really well done, vise versa for ROH. Even the smaller details, like TNA's relationship with New Japan (who also had a relationship with WCW) and ROH's relationship with NOAH (ECW had a relationship with All Japan... same people) and Dragon Gate (ECW and M-Pro/FMW) are reminiscent.

You're right.
From what I know, they don't even want a TV deal. They'd just rather have what they have now because they don't really want to become a main stream company.
