Not sure if this been done before but a review of Royal Rumble 2000..

----

Good opening video to hype the what is to be epic street fight between Cactus Jack and Triple H tonight for the World Heavyweight championship.

Kurt Angle vs. Tazz
This is Kurt Angle’s mystery opponent who quests to beat his unbeaten streak. Before the match Angle is confident and manages to get some good heat, his opponent comes out and it’s none other than the former ECW World champion, Tazz. He is dressed in the same attire with that towel on his head, which he removes before entering the ring, and the match is immediately under way. I like Tazz dominating the early moments of the match, embellishing his monster status, and it’s quickly taken outside the ring. Back in, both exchanges in a series of suplexes to show off their similar styles, Tazz gets a pin but Angle has his foot on the rope.. He then locks Angle in the Tazzmission which according to the commentators is illegal, but Angle passes out and the ref declares the bell to be rung. Not sure as to who the winner is but a good bout to start off the night.

Rating: ***. A quick match, but it was good. Liked how Tazz was using Kurt’s move set and Olympic style against him.

Hardy’s Interview: I like how their hyping the upcoming match as ‘dangerous’ especially to someone like Terri who knows little about the stipulation, and can somewhat relate to the audience. Also good to mention how Team 3D is ‘extreme’ an obvious reference to their ECW days. Lasts like 10 seconds but it’s quick and to the point.

Hardy’s vs. Team 3D (Tables Match)

I think this is the first tables match in WWE…ev0r

. Team 3D (meh I’m too used to calling them that now so that’s what I’ll call them, so sue me. <,<) beat up Hardy’s as they make their way to the ring and roll them into the ring immediately. They take down the Hardy’s and Bubba immediately goes for a table and slides it into the ring. Bubba’s about to slam Jeff on the table but Matt pushes it away, Jeff throws Bubba to the outside, and hits him with a Swanton Bomb over the top rope, a good spot. With Bubba on the table, Jeff goes to crash into him, but Bubba slides off the table and whacks the table in Jeff’s face as he jumps. Their really using the table well as a weapon without making it break, which is clever. Meanwhile in the ring Matt and D-Von are reversing moves to dodge being crashed through the table. Dudley Boys swap positions so D-Von’s now fighting Jeff at ringside while Bubba Ray is taking care off Mat inside. Moment’s later Bubba Ray is on the top turnbuckle ready to jump through Matt, but Matt gets to his feet and low blows Bubba, both Hardy Boys then get on he turnbuckle and are going to double suplex him through the table, but D-Von returns to the ring, and instead of saving the move from executing he takes the safer and more likely to succeed option of just moving the table out the way, so Bubba goes crashing onto the bare ring mat. Hardy’s then bring a ladder into the match and execute it against Team 3D for a brief moment. Matt lays Bubba onto a table at ringside, and sets a ladder beside it, he climbs it and is ready to jump. D-Von comes for the save but Matt pushes him off and D-Von hits a crowd guy accident

. Matt jumps, and out of nowhere Jeff flies onto Bubba as well so the two send him crashing through the table. With Bubba out the Hardy’s work on dismantling Jeff. Hardy’s set up two tables and it seems like a good spot is going to happen. Matt buts D-Von on one of the tables while he goes to the top turnbuckle, he jumps but D-Von moves and he crashes through the table, D-Von then rolls over and leans onto the other set up table (which is leaning on the crowd barrier), Hardy comes out of nowhere again with a Swanton Bomb, but D-Von dodges him and Jeff crashes through it! It seemed though they had already planned that D-Von was to dodge the table.

Team 3D then set up a table onto 2 steel steps in the middle of the ring and 3D him through the table. At this point there’s quite a few ‘spot after spot’ spots, kind of reminding me of current TNA. They take the brawl back to the outside, and now it’s only Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley apparently left in the match. Bubba sets up 2 2 tables on top of each other (yes I did mean for the double 2, so it’s 4 tables altogether). Bubba takes Jeff up into the crowd, beats him down and is now ready to jump onto Matt, but it seems Jeff is getting up from behind, this is interesting to say the least, and Jeff with a low blow! Jeff now hits him over the head with the steel chair, and Bubba Ray falls back crashing through the tables! But he’s already an illegal man so the match continues. Matt sets up a table, and Jeff Hardy is still on top in the crowd, Matt sets D-Von on the table and Jeff performs in the iconic Swanton Bomb from the top of the crowd onto D-Von! A great finish to the match.

Rating: ***. Spotty but it turned out to be a fun table’s match with a nice finish.

Backstage Angle gets medication while he ponders whether he’s still undefeated or not.

Next up is something for the soft hearted fans…Several WWF Hall of Fame guys are called out along with Mae Young (I’m guessing she’s somehow going to be involved.) who take a seat beside the ring, and Jerry the King Lawler introduces the ladies. Don’t need to get into the details but they all show of their bikinis, except for Luna, but hey, I ain’t complaining. Mae Young (yup I guessed) then gets in the ring and starts stripping, and actually goes to the extent of showing her boobs. Overall a pretty pointless segment and really doesn’t deserve to be on PPV.

Backstage Jericho and Chyna are backstage arguing over who should wear the Intercontinental title. (This jogged my memory though I don’t exactly know how but they both were the Intercontinental champion at the same time I believe.) Earl Hebner comes and takes the belt to the ring. I always thought Chyna was underrated in looks..

Hardcore Holly vs. Chris Jericho vs. Chyna (For Intercontinental title)

Holly takes Chyna out of the equation with a simple sexist push while he fights Jericho. Chyna slaps some sense into the men, but Hardcore Holly Irish Whips Chyna into the turnbuckle, which she over sells and falls to the outside. Holly and Jericho then fight in the ring and have a notable series of chest slaps. Holly attempts a Hurricarana on Jericho, but Jericho grabs him and holds him in the Walls of Jericho, but Chyna comes in to make the save and clothesline Jericho from behind. Chyna clotheslines Jericho out of the ring, Jericho gets Irish Whipped into the ropes, but Holly grabs his leg leaving him open for Chyna to attack, Chyna goes for a slide kick to Jericho’s other leg, but Jericho dodges it and instead she hits Holly. She takes advantage and continues her assault on Holly, whilst in ring Jericho does a lionsault onto Hardcore Holly. Chyna and Jericho fight in the ring, CHyna has Jericho cornered, she then does does a cartwheel followed by a back body drop to Jerich in the corner (proper move name?). She covers for the pin but Holly returns to prevent a 3 count. It’s not Holly and Jericho, he Irish Whips Jericho into the ropes, and as Chyna uses the ropes to help herself up she twists them, and manages to get Jericho to fall over it.

. Chyna wonders what just happened but Holly comes in on her with a clothesline so she drops to the floor as well. Holly gets a steel chair to attack Chyna but Jericho grabs it from behind, Holly pushes Jerich off, but Chyna kicks the steel chair into the face of Holly. The two then double team against Holly and get him into the ring, both get on top of the turnbuckles and come splashing in on him, both cover but Holly somehow kicks out at 2. The 3 continue to brawl for the next minutes with more close falls…Jericho and Holly are on the top turnbuckle, Chyna pushes them so that they both drop and hit the rope between their legs, Chyna is happy and symbolizes by clenching her fist, thinking that she’s got the weakest point of both men (their privates). Jerihco falls out the ring, and Chyna suplexes Holly to the centre of the ring. But somehow Holly makes the pin on Chyna, but she kicks out on the two. Holly now grabs Jericho and punches him from inside the ring, this gives Chyna a chance to slide out the ring and reintroduce a steel chair to the match, with the referee checking on Jericho Holly turns round only to receive a chair shot to the face. Chyna now applies the Walls of Jericho submission on Holly, but Jericho bounces off the ropes and stunners Chyna, followed by a lionsault for the victory.

Rating: ***. A good and interesting 3 way bout, nothing special though.

Jim coming in and disagreeing with everything you say could be fun to see.

I enjoyed the tables match. Very fun and got the crowd into the show.

Looking forward to street fight.
