It was on this day 20 years ago that Frank Brody, better known to fans as Brusier Brody or King Kong Brody was stabbed to death by The Invader 1 in Puerto Rico. While in the locker room before a show, Invader I asked to talked to Brody alone in the shower. Once Brody came in the shower, Invader I began stabbing him with a knife. It is said that his final words was to Carlos Colon telling him that he loved his wife.
Invader I would eventually be acquitted mainly due to several witnesses (Namely Tony Atlas) refusing to testify out of fear of Puerto Rico's strong gang influences and claiming it was out of self defense.
Although Brody has been gone for 20 years, his influences can still be found. Many wrestlers have based their characters off of Brody. John Nord aka The Beserker, Jimmy Jacob's Nord's character and most recently, The Necro Butcher all have based their moveset and look after Brody.
While Brody never had a real chance to make it big in the WWE due to real life heat with Gorilla Monsoon, Brody's Widow has signed a WWE legends deal to have Brody become an action figure, there has been several books written about the big man and to this day, Brody still has a strong cult following. Brody was in a league of his own, a big man who was also very agile. A brawler who could also wrestle.

One of many great legends who never really got to show us anything and possibly one of the most tratic cases in wrestling history. One of the most heartbreaking ways to lose a grazing and strong individual.I still watch his matches twenty years today.

Anyway, if he was still around today I would expect him to be mostly around the Japan scene much like Abdullah is, because the US indy scene is very much youth orientated and I can't see him ever working for a mainstream company like wwe or tna. From that which I have seen, his All Japan work is great and that is what I would recommend to people havent seen the guys' work, more specifically his tags with Hansen and his match with Jumbo. From what I've seen, his territory work seems mostly like pointless squash matches and judging from his reputation I wouldn't doubt most of it was just that.
Anyway, always sad to see someone go in such a way and definetaly a big loss for the wrestling world, but his influence will remain. Atleast it gave Steve Corino a funny anecdote to tell.
Rest In Peace.

RIP Brodie. It really was an awful way to die being turned on by those regarded as "brothers" He was an extremely talented worker and yes a real legend. Has anyone read the book his wife wrote?
Although still overweight, Vader wasn't ridiculously huge then To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
RIP Bruiser Brody.
Why did Invader do it? Is it known?

Brody was a very difficult man to deal with. That's why he rarely stayed in one place for a long time. Basically, Invader I was a member of the committee than ran Carlos Colon's WWC. Meanwhile, Brody was beginning to get things together to buy a part of WWC to be a part owner. Already disliking him (I assume), Invader I just didn't want Brody having so much power in WWC.

i love how billy jack haynes put brody in his rf video shoot could draw as much as hogan.
bruiser could of done wonders for ecw in my opinion if he had not died. think that is really sad about this is his wife. his wife came to Puerto Rico and asked where her husband was a few days after the murder. they didn't even have the decenty to tell brody's wife that he died. i find quite disgusting that carlos colen would keep invader around especially have killing brody. i forgot who said this in the heroes of world class. i am pretty sure jim remebers who. he can't believe americans go there after brody was murdered liked that. that person has never touch soil on Puerto Rico since brody's murder.
rip brody

I have seen Heroes of World Class, but I can't remember who said that. Speaking of Heroes of World Class, if anyone enjoyed the WCCW dvd the WWE released, pick up Heroes of World Class. It has a much more in depth doc.
I actually never knew about no one telling Barbara Goodish that Brody died. That's pretty pathetic.
Many wrestlers did leave WWC after the Brody slaying. That could explain why Colon kept Invader I around. Either way it's still messed up.

It's sad. He could have been even bigger of a star. How old was he when he died and how much longer do you think he would have lasted? Like do you think he may have gone to ECW?
