One of the more amusing things in wrestling is how easily wrestlers can be friends again. Perhaps the most common cause is one of the wrestlers to either turn heel or face (Depending on which one the other wrestler is). Just like that, the two wrestlers will forget they were ever feuding. Some semi recent examples:
Triple H and Ric Flair - Late 2005 they're trying to kill each other. Late 2006, they're teaming together and acting like best friends again.
Mickie James and Ashley - Post WM 22, Mickie James kidnaps Ashley and stuffs her in a box. A year later, they're acting like the best of friends against the Raw heels.
However, the type I enjoy even more are the ones where it depends on what company the wrestlers are in when it comes to being friends or rivals. Case in point, CM Punk and Raven in 2003.
In the beginning of 2003, Raven and CM Punk begins a feud in ROH. The feud quickly became personal with Punk bringing up Raven's history of alcohol addiction. By mid 2003, the feud had really reached a peak (Little did we know it was about to become even more personal.) Around this time though, Punk debuts in TNA, Raven's other home. On the June 18th TNA PPV, Punk asks The Gathering (Raven's faction with Alexis Laree and Julio Dinero) if he could join. As storylines went, Punk respected and looked up to Raven so much, he wanted to be the 3rd member of the Gathering. Ironically, it was just 4 days before at ROH's Night of Grudges, that Raven busted Punk wide open with a garbage can lid. As the year went on, Raven and Punk kept battling in ROH while Punk was a loyal follower in TNA. About a month after their ROH feud ends in a steel cage match, Punk and Dinero turns on Raven in a 6 man steel cage match. It seems as if Punk finally realized while in Nashville, that he was supposed to hate Raven. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Granted I know that TNA and ROH are two different companies. However, you would figure that someone in TNA would see how little sense it made to have Punk and Raven be on the same side.
Other examples of these bipolar relationships?

They were in DX together, they were the best of friends, closer than a lot of brothers etc etc. Then, Triple H turns on Shawn Michaels, and turns out to unsurprisingly be the guy who rammed his head through a car window leaving him in a pool of his own blood. Shawn Michaels returns to the ring and defeats him in a bloody non-sanctioned match, then after the match Triple H tries to paralyse him with a sledgehammer to his injured lower back (which he had mercilessly worked on the whole match). This leads to HBK winning the World Heavyweight Title by pinning Triple H again in the Chamber at Survivor Series, and they go on to have a ridiculously personal and bloody feud with 3 stages of hell, Last Man Standing and even a Hell in a Cell match, hitting each other with objects such as sledgehammers, chairs and a flaming 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire....
....but that didn't stop DX returning like nothing ever happened.
Apparently you can be forgiven for trying to put a guy in a wheelchair.

The line makes the implication that it was just some random bipolar relationship. It's not like they just randomly came back together. It was a slow build of having a common enemy and needing each other. So I wouldn't classify it as a bipolar relationship. It was just one that was mended.

After Triple H tried to put him in a wheelchair? Hardly typical is it.

Thing is, if two men have that great of a hatred that is common against one man, usually they can put differences aside and work together, which is what they did. While they did that, they realized the bond they had. One would have to assume Triple H apologized a few times.

In normal circumstances that would work, but I can't overstate the fact that he tried to put him in a wheelchair.
Pretty sure those two could never be friends again.
