We have seen a lot of different eras in wrestling, under a lot of different circumstances, especially people like Jim who have been watching the product for a hell of a long time. While a lot changes in wrestling to do with booking, matches and everything else, surely there are some things which will always stay the same?
What has remained constant in wrestling?

*The basic heel vs face match template. The fans will always want to cheer for one guy and boo another.
*The business will always go through ups and downs. Whether it's boom eras or dead periods. Very popular months or slow months.
*Wrestling promoters will always be looking for that new market. Whether it's radio, television, cable or now the internet.
*If you're leaving a company, you will always be expected to put someone over. Exceptions only if both you and your opponent are leaving or if you have creative control in your contract.
*The general fan will most rather have a shorter match than some long one. That's why wrestling first became scripted and why iron man matches are so rare.

Race and sex and discrimination/politics in general will always be an accusation by those who are bitter.
And do you realize why people will always bring it up? It's because it has always existed. It just so happens that anyone who are female, gay, or not white will often time bring up discrimination instead of realizing that they just flat out suck. Chris Kanyon wasn't fired because he was gay. He was fired because by 2004, he was a worthless talent whose biggest claim to fame was WWE Magazine predicting he will be on the cover before the end of 2004.
But make no mistake about it, discrimination, real discrimination, occurs all the time.
