Can you think of one match in particular which you didn't expect much from, but ended up far exceeding your expectations?
I will have to give this some thought, but a recent one which springs to mind is Cena v Umaga at the Royal Rumble last year. Seemed like your typical unstoppable face v dull monster, but Umaga really proved how great he was and the match had great psychology, as well as some awesome spots and a highly original finish.

i know i'll get pwned for this one but in all honesty... Big Show versus The Great Khali, i mean i was expecting big show to basically carry the match but Khali put up some great offence and i found it a bit better thn my expectation

Yeah, Batista/Taker at WM23 came to mind. I thought it would be full of rest holds and just be crappy, but Batista really proved to me that given the right opponent, he can put on a fantastical match.

Benoit vs MVP @ Mania.... If I remember correctly no one expected this to be any good.
Then MVP showed us he was more than capable of working a good match.
I gotta disagree with that. None of the boards I posted on thought it was going to be terrible. They didn't expect it to be as good as it was, but it wasn't as big of a surprise as say Cena vs Umaga.

Meh, it was just the first thing that popped into my head. MVP wasn't appreciated much as a wrestler until after that match. I remember sitting down and being impressed, having thought very little of him before hand.
Probbably not on the suprise scale of Cena/Umaga, but like I said... first match I thought of.

Agreed with all the Batista/Taker, Cena/Umaga and Show/Mayweather nominations.
Also, Cena vs JBL - I Quit match, after their below average match at Wrestlemania I had pretty much turned against this fued but this match was pretty great.
