Who here does everyone think was a natural in the business? By natural, I mean someone who became a freakishly good worker in a short amount of time.
First one that comes to my mind is Brock Lesnar, the guy was having some of the best matches in the wwe only months after his debut and was putting out MOTYC in the first few years of his wwe career.
Kurt Angle also developed pretty quick. He wasn't pushed as fast as Brock was, but he was putting on great matches in the first year or two of his wwe career and within a short time was putting out great matches left, right and centre.
Samoa Joe, even in his rookie year you could tell just by watching him he was going to become something special.
Go Shiozaki was a bit green in his first year, but quickly evolved into a phenom. The guy is like a young legend and always makes himself stand out in his matches. He's young but you can tell he's going to have great things ahead of him.
I doubt many people here will know him but Katsohiko Nakajima, he turns 21 this year and was putting out MOTY calibre matches at the age of 18 which is insane.
Other older guys I've watched who seemed great as rookie would include Owen Hart, Jumbo Tsuruta (definately a natural) , Shinjiro Ohtani (debuted in '92 and by '94 you could argue him as the best in the world), BxB Hulk and Shingo from Dragon Gate made an instant impact in their debut years, Kobashi and Akiayama were both great rookies too.
Who would you consider to be a natural in the business?

A lot of people gave Billy Kidman an awful a lot of credit when he first entered as being a fantastic high flyer and he really stood behind that in the mid 90's.
I also thought Low-Ki did a good job making a name for himself by suddenly exploding onto the scene and winning the ROH Title.

I have to agree with most of the names mentioned. But I'm going to throw a couple of British names into the mix just for fun.
Jody Fleish - Not massively well known by most nowadays let alone from early in his career. But from day one he was incredibly comfortable in the ring, especially when it comes to selling. Never seen a more natural bump... ever.
Paul Burchill - I used to watch burchill when he was fresh out of the FWA Academy and he just amazed me. Crisp ofeense, he could fly, he could powerhouse,he could chain, he was so incredibly well rounded. He can play such a wide range of character's face or heel. Simply phenomenal. I don't know how WWE are managing to make him look so sloppy.
Kurt Angle - Within a few months, it was as if he had been wrestling for years. He was funny on the mic, putting on good matches and had plenty of heel heat. An incredible first year.
The Rock - Once he was able to do what he wanted (Be a heel and not some bland face) the guy quickly exploded and started coming up with all this great material that made the fans love him. If only he would of debuted as the Rock at the Survivor Series in 1996, he could of easily been a World Champion by the summer of 1998.

He was in WCW for like a year or so and was never anything special. Even in TNA's early years he was far from perfect. He only really got great around '03-'04 ish, atleast in my opnion.

Oh no, I see where you stand from. Look at Joe, too. He did some WWE/F pre shows, but that doesn't change anything. I guess it's from a standpoint. Like, most of his indy work is what I'm aiming for.

Have you ever really seen any of his early matches, Ken?
And for me, I would have to go with Chris Benoit. Everything he did from his early Stampede days teaming with Wellington was spectacular as if he had been wrestling for years.
