It's a pretty common term in pro wrestling jargon. You have a superior wrestler carrying a lesser talented wrestler to a much better than expected match. For that one match, the bad wrestler looks good, while the good wrestler is praised even more.
A common misconception in my eyes for carry jobs is that it's incapable to have a great match that's a carry job with a terrible wrestler. In order to have a really good match, you need too really good wrestlers. So in the case of say, Ultimate Warrior vs Randy Savage (WM 7), there's no way Savage could put on such a great match if Warrior was as bad as some believes him to be. It just so happens that Randy knows how to work with Warrior and that Warrior got to be in a longer than norm match.
Getting that out of the way, what are some of the best carry jobs ever?

Eh, I don't really believe in carry jobs that much, I'm firmly behind the theory of it taking two to have good match. If one guy is that bad... then the match probably isn't going to be anything decent. One guy may control and dominate the match, but his opponent has to sell it all and also has to draw you in and all that stuff.
Off the top of my head, I would say probably the Khali/Taker street fight or last man standing or whatever it was is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Wasn't a particularly good match, but the spots and brutality of it all kept my interest for longer than any of Khali's other matches do.

Much like Steve, I don't believe in carry jobs. TO me, a wrestler is only carried if he is injured or incapacitated. Ala Joe/Angle I where Angle passed out for part of the match.

Like these guys, I can't say I believe in carry jobs. Especially when people are looking at a ****+ match and claiming one guy has no talent and was carried. That is just laughable. We all know that for a match to be great, it requires both guys to put a lot into it. It is just impossible to 'carry' someone to a great match, or even a good match.
People just use it as a way to justify saying someone is a bad wrestler despite putting on good matches.

You guys may not believe in cary jobs but wrestlers sure do, just read Bret Hart's book he tells a bunch of stories about how he had to carry guys and how they had the best matches of their career with Bret carrying them, and these guys were like drunk or high during their match so it was a carry.

I am kinda on the same boat with Steve but kinda not as well. I do believe Joe made the match at Destination X and Christian was just a body there that they wanted to see Joe defeat to win the title. I don't think Christian was carried but I think Joe was the only reason the match was great if that makes any sense.

That is true to an extent, but at the end of the day, Cage had to sell all of the offence, which was a major part of the match. He had to make the emotion just as believable as Joe did and through he was just getting his ass handed to him for the majority of it, he made Joe look like a million bucks.
Cena/Khali is a good example of why carry jobs never result in good matches.

Mr Kennedy vs Shawn Michaels - Armageddon 2007 The Undertaker vs Batista - Wrestlemania 23
Virtually every Vince McMahon match Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon - King of the Ring 2001 Chris Benoit vs Orlando Jordan - Great American Bash 2005 Chris Benoit vs Bret Hart - Owen Tribute Match
Everyone in bold helped their opponent produce a better match than they were able to.

Are you saying Batista didn't up his game and hold his own against The Undertaker, or that Shane didn't do his fair share to make the KOTR match great?
