When it comes to Mr. Wrestlemania, you normally get one of three answers: The Undertaker (For his streak), Shawn Michaels (For the hype and his good matches) and Hulk Hogan (For his role in establishing WM). The debate for who's Mr. Wrestlemania has been done many times and the same three names are still said. But, what about the other major PPV's by the WWE?
Who is Mr. Royal Rumble?
Who is Mr. Summerslam?
Who is Mr. Survivor Series?
For Mr. Royal Rumble there's only one person who really jumps out at me for the Royal Rumble:
Shawn Michaels - Having won the Royal Rumble in 1995 and 1996, Michaels was in the final four in 1994 and 2007. In 1997, Shawn Michaels won the WWF World Title from Sid, the following year he successfully defended it against The Undertaker in a casket match. In other matches, Shawn Michaels defeated Marty Janetty in an IC title match. 2 years before, happier days for Shawn and Marty as they beat The Orient Express. But perhaps the main reason why he's Mr. Royal Rumble in my eyes was for the 'Shawn Michaels rule' of both feet having to touch the floor. It was in 1995 that someone finally tested the rule of BOTH feet touching and not just one.
Mr Summerslam:
Bret Hart - No one else really jumps out at me for Summerslam. Bret though was apart of the 9 of the first 10 Summerslams. And he did pretty much everything there was to do at Summerslam. 88 and 90 he and Jim Neidhart put on MOTNC against Demolition for the tag titles. In 1989, they had the MOTN against the Brain Busters. He once again stole the show in 1991 and 1992 in his IC title matches. The latter being perhaps Summerslam's most famous match. For 1993, he wrestled in two very good matches against Doink and Jerry Lawler. The Doink match was a MOTN. The following year, he stole the show again with Owen Hart in a World Title match inside the steel cage. In 1997, he stole the show one last time winning his 5th and final World Title from the Undertaker. 1995 was his only disappointing SS match, against Issac Yankam aka Kane.
Mr. Survivor Series:
Truth be told, I had a hard time picking anyone. There's Hulk Hogan who's feud with Andre the Giant really created the PPV. Hogan would go on leading his team to victory in the first 4 Survivor Series. In 1991, he lost the World Title. However, unlike Wrestlemania, it's hard to call him Mr Survivor Series since he was apart of so little of them. There is Randy Orton, who went from 2003-2005 being the sole survivor of his teams. After a loss in 2006, he went on to successfully defend the World Title against Shawn Michaels in 2007. That actually made 3 straight wins by Orton over Shawn Michaels at The Survivor Series. However, it's hard to give him the crown since he's only been in a few of the recent ones. The Undertaker is a real option though, he debuted at the 1990 one and a year later he won the World Title against Hogan. In 1992 and 1994 he won casket matches. He won other matches in 1995, 1996 and 2004. However, the problem with Taker is that the past decade, he's either lost or missed most of the Survivor Series. 1997, 1999, 2002 and 2005 were all years he missed. 1990, 1993, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2007 were all losses for Taker.
Anyways, who are your picks?

I know this is about memorable moments, career triumphs etc, as well as great matches, but I don't think losing matches necessarily makes that much difference. If the matches were good that is. Out of those, I have only seen 90, 98, 2000, 2001 (which I believe he won, because he was on the winning side, even though he was eliminated) 2003, 2006 and 2007. I don't know why I just said only, because I just realised I named all but 93. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Taker was screwed out of the win at some of them if that counts for anything. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
My picks:
Royal Rumble: I can't argue with your choice of Shawn Michaels. My only other thought was Austin due to three wins and getting cheated out of one by McMahon, but Michaels has done a lot more at Rumbles as you pointed out.
Summerslam: Triple H? Cage at 97,Ladder Match with Rock at 98, Three Way Main Event at 99 and 2000, the epic Street Fight at 2002, Elimination Chamber at 2003, DX 2006, Big Return in 2007. Hopefully Cena match at 2008 To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I am not too familiar with Bret's early work though.
Survivor Series:Undertaker. When I think of Survivor Series, the Undertaker just comes to mind. Strange. He has had a lot of big SS matches.
