Alot of his ratings are fair, Meltzer is a bit harsh, so I assume that whatever he gives a match, plus a quarter or a half is usually about right. But he gave Angle/Benoit from 17 a blashphemus rating.

From a wrestling standpoint, he's right. His ratings are based on watching just the show, and nothing else I'm sure. WM1 had no classics at all! If ou add the entertainment aspect of the WM's, it throws up a star or so. But I totally agree with his ratings. I hate it when peeps give matches 5 stars automatically. Then the peeps tat mae it like some psychotic game with the star rating system. It is possible to rate a match with stars imo if you're rating it's wrestling.

WM8 might be too low for ratings, but the first 5 manias had maybe 2 classics when combined together.

Meltzer is a fucking buster. He gave the most overrated boring match in Joe/Punk II five stars but refused to give a even better HBK/Benoit/HHH match a lower one. How the hell he does the same to HBK/Angle is beyond me.

The match had great wrestling but it bored the shit out of me. It feels like chore to watch the whole thing and nothing about the match attracts me to fucking sit a hour through it. It is nowhere near as good as Joe/Kobashi, KENTA/Marafuji, Misawa/Kobashi, HHH/Benoit/HBK, or any other five star match for that matter. Joe/Punk I was better because it atleast kept me interested from the beginning to the end and never makes me regret watching it.

I've noticed that's the main complaint from anyone that dislikes it, and I'm not going to change your mind by making lots of analytical points so fuck it. I'll just agree to disagree. I will say that two of those matches aren't actual five star matches though, assuming you're going by what Meltzer has said of course. If you're talking about your own views then that's your problem. =P
