Another Randy Savage question because I love him To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Why hasn't the WWE inducted Randy Savage into their HOF? Does/did he deserve to be inducted before some of the people currently in the HOF? If yes, who are they and why?
I think it's obvious that there's SOME kind of tension between Vince McMahon and Randy Savage. I tried finding a post I made on another board about my theory for all of the drama. But failing to find it, I guess I will try to retype it up.
First, don't buy into that crazy internet rumor of Savage hooking up with a 14 year old Stephanie. Back in 1994, Savage was given a quality departure from the WWF. On Raw, Vince thanked him for all of his work. I don't know about you, but would you really be so kind to someone who raped your daughter?
The main problem is the battle of egos. Vince and Randy have shown that they're both very ego driven. What I believe happened was after WCW went out of business, Vince tried signing Randy. Although he probably wasn't happy that Randy was such a major player in WCW, Vince is willing to ignore personal feelings for the better of the business. However, Randy turned the WWE down and made it clear that he didn't need or wanted them. Although Vince is willing to give everyone a second chance, he can't stand it when someone rejects him. Randy saying "No" was a huge deflater of Vince's ego. Now because of this, Vince wants Randy to come crawling back on his hands and knees like many other wrestlers. Savage has yet to do that, which causes Vince to become even more upset. I'm sure his logic is "I'm Vince McMahon damnit, you need me." So now, Vince doesn't want to even offer Savage anything since it's only an ego boost for Savage and just continues to make Vince feel not as important.
Which is a major shame since Randy is still one of the most well known stars of the 80's. A Randy Savage DVD could do huge business. Until Randy Savage comes to Vince, I don't see Vince and the WWE doing anything with Savage.
As for the Hall of Fame, Randy deserves to be inducted for sure. Savage was the real Total Package in pro wrestling. He had the look, mic skills, talent, charisma and fan support. Not to mention with Wrestlemania just days away, he was in one of the best WM matches of all time. Actually, I take that back. He's been in several of the best WM matches ever.
As for being inducted before others, of course there's wrestlers that he should of been inducted before, but there's still others that should have been inducted before him. I'm not a fan of inducting people who are still active or was recently active. So Eddie Guerrero, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler (I can't remember if he was inducted as a wrestler or commentator, if it's as a wrestler then I have no problem with it) and now most recently, Ric Flair. Inducting people when they're still active is jumping the gun on their careers. I believe all other major sport Hall of Fames require a certain number of years of retirement before you're even qualified to be inducted. Inducting people whenever you want is yet another reason why the WWE Hall of Fame doesn't have much prestige and worth.
Inducting wrestlers too soon is my only real issue. It seems like every induction year has followed a certain theme. 2005 really centered around inducting stars of the first Wrestlemania with Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Jimmy Hart, Bob Orton, Paul Orndorff, Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik. So because of that, there's no reason to really feel as if Randy deserved to be inducted before anyone else.
lol idk, you seem to be very negative towards Eddie Guerrero, I had a feeling you were going to say something like "he wasn't HOF wothy" or sumin'....
With zero requirements besides being close with the McMahon's, everyone is WWE HOF worthy. However, they should have waited on inducting Eddie. It felt more of a free pass to the HOF because he died, rather then recognizing his career.
I'm not necessary negative towards Eddie, however; I don't cum at every little thing he did unlike other fans.

If Randy Savage didn't come crawling back to Vince McMahon, does that mean Bret Hart did? I have no clue how that DVD release came about seeing as I don't remember Bret actually making an appearance on WWE television to promote the DVD.

Bret kinda came crawling back, but it was under his own terms so it wasn't really coming back on his hands and knees. Originally, the Bret Hart DVD was going to be called "Screwed: The Bret Hart DVD". It was going to be another bash dvd similar to The Ultimate Warrior's. However, in the middle of the production, Bret agreed to work on it with the WWE. According to Hart, he did it for the fans, not the WWE.
Besides a Byte This appearance around this time, Bret didn't advertise the DVD at all on WWE TV. Vince though, realized just agreeing to work on the DVD was a major step for Bret. I would not be surprised if during production of the DVD that Bret agreed to go in the Hall of Fame.
Even though I believe Vince feels he did what was best for the WWE by doing the screwjob, he knows that Bret geniually felt betrayed. Vince and Hart's relationship is entirely different than that of Vince and Savage.

With Chris Benoit slowly (however much more quickly than I anticipated) coming back in the WWE's history books, how far do you think he'll make it in terms of being recognized. Now I doubt a HOF induction, but will WWE advertise his matches on DVD's in the future (near or far) or will clips of him ever be shown on broadcasts again?

The Japanese Bomb Angels are easily my favorite women wrestlers. My favorite match would be the 1987 Survivor Series match with those 2 teaming with Velvet McIntyre, Fabulous Moolah and Rockin' Robin against Sherri Martel, Glamour Girls, Dawn Marie (Not ECW's Dawn Marie) and Donna Christanello. That was one of the first and only women matches that made me just go "Wow." The Japanese Bomb Angels were doing moves that wouldn't be seen again in the WWE for over a decade. Then you had Velvet using a lot of headscissors and similar moves which also wouldn't be seen to that extent for years. The match was just so ahead of it's time.
1995 Survivor Series match with the women was also great. It took a bit for me to get into it, but once I did it was so much fun. You had the tiny Chapparita Asari doing all these moves that the CW's were about to make famous in WCW. Then of course there was the debut of The Amazing Kong.
Sure these women aren't as good looking as today's women wrestlers, but they had something that the likes of Trish and Lita never had...talent.
