Not sure if this has been posted here before or not, but just list any wrestling opinions that people may find unpopular and discuss them. Just respect everyone's opinions and please keep it mature.
I'll start. I think the attitude era is overrated. Yes it was a great era, I witnessed it. However I just can't stand how a large portion of the IWC just complains how "WWE's current product is shit compared to the attitude era." Come on, the attitude era was good but not perfect. Also I think the current product in WWE is pretty decent for the most part.

And the attitude era being overrated is hardly an unpopular opinion.

The Attitude Era has many things going for it that the current era doesn't. More than anything, it was an exciting time to be a fan. You had two popular mainstream companies to watch and the cult following of ECW as well. Thanks to the competition, it allowed for some huge signings to occur. Scott Hall showing up on Nitro was such a big deal because Razor Ramon and the WWF was a big deal. Most defections between WWE/TNA are fairly low key with a few exceptions (Kurt Angle in 2006 springs to mind). The WWE had a core group of colorful characters that could cut a hell of a promo. Part of the drawing power of each Monday Night was seeing what Steve Austin, The Rock, Mr. McMahon or Mick Foley was going to say. Even a lot of the midcard acts had the mic presence to draw in some numbers as well thanks to The New Age Outlaws, Val Venis and The Godfather. To top it off, it was easy finding fellow wrestling fans in your neighborhood. Being able to talk to friends at school or on the weekend about what was happening in wrestling made being a fan that much more fun.
The workrate may have not been high in the Attitude Era, but I'll say virtually everything else was.

Jim being an contrarian. >_> I remember when you were one of the biggest advocates of the "Attitude Era was overated" point.
This might be an unpopular one, but I'd say Austin's 2001 was better than his 1997 from an in-ring perspective.

Plus the Rock match, and 2/3 Falls with HHH, and The Rumble, and the tag against Chris x2, and pretty much everything else he did that year.

- I found MVP during his entire WWE stay to be tremendously boring and over-rated.
- I actually don't mind how the current WWE Tag Team Titles look.
