I didn't say I have to have heard of them, it's just that it's hard to get into any of the characters (which is an important part of professional wrestling) or care what happens when most of these indy wrestlers blend together and you have no clue who any of them are.
lol, and it'd be the same with WWE if you didn't take an active interest....
What's your point?
You obviously have to get into ROH before you can get into their characters.

WWE is big enough that they don't need to team up with other promotions, so the champion doesn't defend the title against non-WWE wrestlers. That doesn't mean anything though, the title is still defended all over the world (and in more countries than ROH).
I don't remember which shows, it was over a year ago (although I did watch the 2nd and 3rd HDNet shows as well). I suppose its possible I just happened to catch some bad shows since every promotion has some bad shows (I can only imagine what a fan would think of WWE if the only show they saw was December to Dismember).
WWE stars are big enough that you don't have to be an active fan to know the biggest stars. When is the last time a ROH wrestler hosted SNL? Or appeared on a mainstream talkshow? The only mainstream exposure I can think of was being the setting for parts of the movie "The Wrestler".

It's the same when you only watch WWE at the beginning. It was hard for me to get to know the character when you first start watching, but that's the same with anything. Going by that theory, I should hate Puro wrestling because I don't know who half the wrestlers' characters are.
I actually find guys like Danielson and McGuinness to be alot more interesting then generic and stale guys like Triple H and Edge, because they seem alot more raw, and real, instead of guys that you see and impeccible or perfect. You can almost relate to some of the ROH characters, because they're alot more true to life is I guess what I'm trying to say lol.
But if you don't like it, that's fine. ROH isn't everyone's cup of tea. But I should still suggest to check out some more of their shows.

Here's an unpopular opinion... if one were to be pushed, Kofi Kingston should be pushed to the main event before Shelton Benjamin.
A Submission themed PPV is actually a cool concept. While the HIAC is obviously laughable, I think this could be good, and will work out better than Cyber Sunday if nothing else.
Extreme Rules is a good PPV as far as the idea goes, it's just executed poorly by having a shit load of stips instead of just all being Extreme Rules.

This is certainly controversial, but I wouldn't really disagree as such because either man making main event would be laughable to me. I can see what you mean because Kofi seems a lot better at getting the crowd into his matches without ridiculous spots, and has a lot more charisma. However, neither man has what it takes. Why won't internet fans accept that not every wrestler has to make it to main event? Being a good midcarder is enough for most.

Yeah I don't think many would actually disagree with this to be honest. People only hate gimmick PPVs due to the overkill, and if anything submission matches are not used enough in WWE. It is not something which can be overdone such as hardcore in my opinion, so I see no problem with a PPV full of submission matches. It gives the PPV a different flavour and allows wrestlers to adapt their style and show what they can do in this sort of match.

I'd still prefer they didn't do it, because hardcore should be reserved for matches that warrant it, but that would be a lot better than a different gimmick for each match.

While I prefer Shelton over Kofi, I agree completely. Shelton has been pushed so erratically over the years that it would be hard to take him serious as a main eventer. Meanwhile, the WWE has been fairly consistent in their pushing of Kofi. They haven't went overboard, however; they have kept at least some sort of Kofi going since the moment he came in. With his popularity, the only thing that will stop Kofi from main eventing is the glass ceiling.

Just quickly, do you actually want to see it with guys that don't really have any submissions in their arsenal, and end up possibly winning with some weak submission? And would you want to see something like this every year as an annual pay per view?

What sort of guys are you talking about? I think most of them could do a decent job in that sort of match, and yeah I would like to see it every year because its something different.

Well, the majority of guys who aren't really trained in or known as submission guys. Guys exact opposites of a Charlie Haas or a William Regal. Big Show, those kinda guys who don't use submissions. Wouldn't them being in a submission match be kinda awkward?
