The thing about AJ that made me lose interest (Back when I first started watching TNA in 03 I love Styles) is when I started watching ROH. His matches were normally my least favorite of the entire night. As good as he was in TNA at the time, he was just not up to the quality I expect. Eventually he started getting boring to me in TNA too. I like his character he has now, compared to his stale face role, but much like TNA in general, they no longer have the spark to make me want to watch them anymore.

AJ is good, but he's nowhere near being the best in the world. His selling is really sub-par on occasions and lacks consistency. At other times he'll completely no sell another wrestler's offence which annoys me greatly, ala Dragon Kid at Dragon Gate Challenge. Little things like that, as little as that may seem to some, really brings wrestlers down in my view and takes away from the story being told in the ring.
People mark when "popular" wrestlers no sell but when others no sell they get pissed. Makes sense >_>
Well it does make sense to an extent. Certain wrestlers gimmicks are that it's next to impossible to hurt them. Wrestlers such as The Road Warriors, The Undertaker and more recently, The Great Khali. When they do finally sell a move, your reaction should be "Whoa, *insert opponent name* is actually taking it to them." That helps their opponent seem even bigger. Someone like Manind is a good example of this. No one really dominated The Undertaker like Foley did in 1996.
Now, someone like AJ Styles is a pretty small guy. It's not believable at all for him to no sell unless he's with a jobber.

When the style of wrestling, as it is in Japan is very stiff, no selling is good because its genuiniely like, "OMG, he just took a hard-ass chop and barely flinched". Otherwise its a negative.
