When watching the monday night wars DVD you hear mick say he thaught WWF was a better product than WCW for about a year untill they beat them in ratings ( Which was april or may 98? )
But i cant recall WWF getting good untill late 97 but still not WCW's standards. DX was funny yeah and bret hart with his canadian patrism was good but the NWO was just gold and pure entertaining to see them rule the roost and not give a shit about anything. WWF got better fall of 98(still close to thsi point) when the wolfpac has faded a little although i think the wolfpac storyline was better than the badd ass of stone cold.
Thaughts on this as i genuinly thinik mick is senial for thinking this or vince paid him to say it cause it's simply not true.

Not paying attention to all the spelling and gramatical mistakes, that's just your opinion. I really didn't watch WCW while it around, so I can't really say, but to say they were better is just your opinion, not "simply not true".

The N.W.O. storyline was gold, eventhough I'm not a big fan of watching 50 year old "wrestle" I was never into Stone Cold. The WWE at that time were still coming off as cartoonish to me, while that is entertaining I wanted wrestling. How many people watched that first hour of Raw? If you were like me you were watching the cruiserweights on Nitro. As far as Mick Foley goes he was probably was not able to speak his true opinion or was a little nostalgic as he was apart of the monday night wars.
The NWO may have changed the way factions were used but they completely killed WCW's tag team division in the 90's.
Niether WWF or WCW were great during the 90's. Outside of the first years or the decade, WCW was pure shit outside of the cruiserwights and *some* of the mid-carders. WWF was also pretty shitty for most of the decade (minus the last few years when things picked up) but atleast the had guys like Mr Perfect and Bret Hart who were consistantly great throughout the decade.
To say you think Foley was bribed to say it is just plain dumb. The guy probably felt so, and he was right in my opinion.

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"

Maybe cause he wouldn't want one of his top stars to tell the world that an opposing organisation was better than his?
Which brings me to my second point; why would Mick ever say that he felt WCW was better? Not like he was working for WWF or anything. I doubt publically siding with WCW would have helped his WWF career too much.
Anyways, I think Mick was right anyways.

I will admit the stuff with austin and hart i did love
I agree completely with Foley. The summer of 1997 (Not quite a year, but close enough) was amazing for the WWE. Once the Canada/US feud got underway (But before it deteriorated into Vader/Patriot for main US guys), the crowd reactions were fantastic. At US shows, the Harts were booed badly. Once they crossed the Canadian border, everything would be totally different. No matter where they were, the crowds were always red hot.
1997 also saw the birth of the Lightheavyweights. Matches with Taka or Sasuke helped Raw finally have a little depth. Things were very unpredictable (In a new and exciting way) in that every Raw felt like something huge could happen.
On the flip side, Nitro was just the same shit week in and week out. It doesn't mean it didn't produce quality, but nothing felt like a surprise anymore. Okay, so Jericho/Melanko/Benoit and the Mexicans put on another great fun match, there's a new "Shocking" nWo member and 'we just experienced the biggest night in wrestling history.' This worked extremely well when Raw was still putting on the same type of feuds as the early 90's, but once the WWF started changing things up, WCW just felt extremely stale.
