As part of a research paper I am looking into why we love professional wrestling. I have a few questions and would love to hear back as to what it is that draws us to the squared circle every week. Hope this spawns a lot of conversation. Feel free to hit me with any questions, concerns, etc.

1)How long have you been a wrestling fan?
2)How old were you when you started? How old are you now?
3)What caused you to get into wrestling?
4)What is the aspect of wrestling you most enjoy?

About 11 years
2)How old were you when you started? How old are you now?
10, I'm 21 now
3)What caused you to get into wrestling?
It was the big thing in my school, so I decided to give it a go.
4)What is the aspect of wrestling you most enjoy?
A good story.
5)Do you enjoy with friends? Family? By yourself?
None of my friends like it, so by myself.
6)Do you feel there are any unfair stigmas/stereotypes of wrestling fans?
Yeah, a lot of people think wrestling fans are a bunch of losers in their moms basement, some perhaps, but certainly not all.
7)Do you watch on tv? Attend live events? Both?
Just TV
8)How often do you watch on TV? Attend live events?
I watch Raw every Monday, I don't watch any other wwe programing, or TNA.
9)Do you read spoilers if available?
For Smackdown, sometimes, but never Raw.
10)Do you compare wrestling to MMA? Or do you think it is something entirely separate?
I think it's completely different, Wrestling is scripted, MMA is not, so you can't really compare the two at all, in my opinion.
11)Is is wrestling a competition or just plain entertainment?
Entertainment, if we are talking about WWE/TNA..some of the indy brands may be competition, because wrestlers have more to lose, I guess you could say that for WWE/TNA, but meh. I don't have nearly enough Indy knowledge to judge it.
12)Do you believe it is real or staged?
Staged
13)Where do you live? (City, State or Country)
Minnesota
1)How long have you been a wrestling fan? A good 10 years or so.
2)How old were you when you started? How old are you now? 8 or 9. Now 19.
3)What caused you to get into wrestling? A friend at school was going on about nWo and DX and so I started to watch WCW and then WWF. There was a real craze for wrestling at that time over here at least.
4)What is the aspect of wrestling you most enjoy? A technical masterpiece of a match. And I guess a storyline which I'm not suspecting at all.
5)Do you enjoy with friends? Family? By yourself? Self.
6)Do you feel there are any unfair stigmas/stereotypes of wrestling fans? There certainly is in the UK I feel. Not many friends would know I still follow wrestling.
7)Do you watch on tv? Attend live events? Both? Neither really. Occassionally on TV.
8)How often do you watch on TV? Attend live events? See above.
9)Do you read spoilers if available? Yes.
10)Do you compare wrestling to MMA? Or do you think it is something entirely separate? Seperate.
11)Is is wrestling a competition or just plain entertainment? I think we have to accept it more and more as just entertainment. That's why I get annoyed when people complain about storylines being too far. Do you not watch the same crap on soap dramas, etc?

around 5, 17 now.
3)What caused you to get into wrestling?
My father was into it, and I'd watch it with him.
4)What is the aspect of wrestling you most enjoy?
The athleticism, the stories..hard to narrow it down.

All of the above.

From 90-94, then again 98-08, so 14 years total

Probably 8, and I'm 26 now

I used to watch Saturday Morning Superstars (WWF) with my friends, and it took off from there.

Watching technically sound wrestling matches that tell a good story

In the last few years I've watched RAW on Monday nights with my friends while we play poker. It's a good combo.

Yeah, it's definitely "not fake".

both. I'm attending Royal Rumble this January, so I'm very excited about that.

Usually watch about 2-4 hours of wrestling on TV, depending on the week (between RAW, SD, iMPACT, and ECW)

Sometimes

No I don't compare the two.

It's entertainment in my book. Competition implies there is nothing pre-determined.

LOL. It's definitely staged. No question.
