Well episode one has aired & i decided to write a short review for it.
Firstly the celebrities, I use that term loosely.
Danny Bonaduce (Who?)
Todd Bridges (Again Who?)
Butterbean (OK I know him)
Trishelle Cannatella (Who?)
Dustin Diamond (Screech ftW)
Erin Murphy (I thought this was going to have celebrities on it)
Dennis Rodman (Seriously?)
Frank Stallone (I give up…)
Tiffany (??)
Nikki Ziering (???)
And the coaches or as Eric Bischoff called them, the “big guns”
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Brutus the Barber Beefcake & Brain Knobbs. Did no-one who we care about want to do it? The judges, Jimmy Hart (Thought he worked for NWWL now?) & Eric Bischoff. Bischoff brags about being the president of WCW. He forgets to mention that he drove WCW headfirst off a cliff.
The opening video package is quite good but seems more like a reality TV show that we have seen too many times before. Hopefully, it turns out to be at least watch able. During the opening video it shows Rob Van Dam & Goldberg, so maybe they could get some stars to take part. Shame it looks as if they are only bit part roles.
The title belt held by Hogan actually looks a lot like the WWE Tag team title belt. Different colours but from a distance looks like the exact same belt. On the close up shots, the shape is pretty similar but it does have a different face.
Ten minutes in and I cant recall Jimmy Hart saying anything of note. Bischoff & Hogan though have done nothing but talk.
The coaches start by demonstrating the moves for this week. Apparently its only going to be three. A Kick to the midsection, a forearm smash & a clothesline. The looks on some of the faces when Beefcake hit the clothesline was classic.
Knobbs is out of breath after doing a few forearm smashes. Imagine what he will be like at the end of the day. One kick to the midsection & the guy kicks him in the balls. This could be hilarious to watch them try & do a full match. Nikki is doing her make up minutes before the match. What the hell? I’m calling it now, Nikki is going home.
Bonaduce is a fairly decent heel & wasn’t half bad at selling for Butterbean. Unfortunately his forearm smash looked like crap. Tiffany is in now & quite frankly she looks the worst yet. Trishelle did a pretty decent job. Butterbean is an absolute tank. Impressive jump from Bonaduce from a power slam from Butterbean to finish the match. I assume Todd Bridges was supposed to actually do something as the manager instead of standing there & watching the match. At least he tried a sneak attack after the match to try & make up for doing nothing. Bonaduce was by far the best in this match.
Nikki has been stuck into the manager role for the second match. Dustin Diamond & Frank Stallone against Erin Murphy & Dennis Rodman. Rodman dominated nearly the entire match while Diamond sold for nearly the entire match. Nikki did next to nothing but still more than Bridges did during the first match.
Well I was wrong Nikki isn’t going home but I doubt it was because of her performance that her team was made safe. Hogan stealing the Rock’s catchphrases now. Tiffany is a jabronni & going home. It was a decent enough show, but, nothing that makes me want to actually watch it again. I probably will though.
