A lot of people have said that they would like to see TNA become competition to WWE in the way that WCW was during the Monday night wars but I feel that the existence of ECW also helped greatly.
Regardless of whether TNA can become the WCW which forced the WWE to rethink their creative direction (for the better) I believe that a third big company would increase the chances of WWE finally getting the kind of competition that has helped them thrive in the past.
Also if there is another big company it will offer another employment opportunity because at the moment if you want a consistent and steady income in North America your only real choices are TNA and WWE so if you burn your bridges there what's left for you?
Of course it would need serious money and a TV deal to make itself known to TNA and WWE but with the right booking team and a sensible budget for their roster anything is possible.
It doesnt matter how sensible your budget is, you need a big backer to get off the ground. If any number of independant companies suddenly got a massive cash injection, they could quite easily make the big two a big three. Without the big financial backer, ROH are the only company who comes close & they get raped every few months by TNA & WWE.

Fairly sure ROH is the third biggest company. With the exception of the fact ECW had a tv deal, the resemblences between ROH and ECW are striking.
There is no need per se for a third one, though variety is always a plus. If you are tired of wwe and tna, it's not that hard to get your hands on some indy or puro wrestling.

WWE is a big promotion and TNA is a reasonably sized promotion and Wrestling today needs a third promotion to pick up the scraps. Its abit predicatlby if a guy leaves from one company, where will he go? Wrestling needs a third company, and ROH is not that company.
