I agree.. but I don't think now is the right time to be criticizing WWE for it as they've pretty much done away with the objectifying of women on their shows..

But that's the thing, you just can't look at the present moment. It's all about what you do in the past when you have your most viewers. Like I said in my post, their actions in the attitude era has alter the ways fans view women wrestling. It's hard to change the fans views when they were told for such a long time that women are nothing more than tits and ass.

I don't know.. At one point, I'd agree that the WWE was all about tits and ass, but since around 2002 or so, they've broken up their women into useless divas and ones whom can perform. Look at Trish, Lita, Victoria, Jazz.. and what have you. They were always given a spot on PPVs and Trish quickly became a role model for young girls.

I don't think it's fair to compare the two except when the two are merged together like when a Playboy girl who can't wrestle is given a shot at the women's title to help promote her magazine.. but thankfully, they never gave the title to Ashley, Christy, or Maria.. so as to not ruin the women's championship's reputation completely..

Even someone like Trish was hardly a role model. How many matches was she in where she had to strip another woman? How many matches of hers did The King talk about her puppies instead of putting over her in ring skill? Lita got over through some nice moves, but showing off of her body. As long as you do things like having King talk about a wrestler's puppies, you will never be able to generate too much respect for the women.

but how much of that is King being King? I don't have evidence, but I'd find it incredibly weird and ultimately useless if WWE was putting on real women's matches with the women working their asses off and at the same time instructing King to ignore the action..

Whether it's Vince feeding him the line every Monday or The King doing it himself, either way, it hurts the credibility of women wrestling. I believe it was late 2006 when Mickie James was guest commentating a women's match. The King was trying to do his typical routine and James kept scolding him trying to make him take this serious. James was trying to get over how talented the two women were in the ring, but King was hurting it by only talking about their bodies.
