As we near Jeff Hardy's one-on-one match with Randy Orton for the WWE Championship we look back at what has turned out to be a big
Turning Point in his career.
In April 2003 Jeff Hardy was released from WWE after several no showings & a burn out claim.
Jeff Hardy would appear in Ring of Honor briefly as Will O' The Wisp. Despite his WWE popularity, he was booed from the get go. Chants of "You Got Fired" & "We Wanted Matt" were almost constant during his short run.
In June 2004, Jeff Hardy made his TNA debut in an X-Division title match against AJ Styles. The match ended a no decision when Kid Kash & Dallas (Lance Hoyt) ran in & attacked both men.
IN September, Jeff lost a NWA World title match to Jeff Jarrett.
In November he got another chance, this time a ladder match. He would lose after Scott Hall & Kevin Nash interfered.
In Feburary 2005, Hardy lost a number one contenders match to Abyss.
At Lockdown in April, Hardy defeated Raven inside the Cage.
In May, Jeff Hardy no-showed the "Clockwork Orange House of Fun" rematch with Raven leading to a short suspension.
Hardy returned in August attacking the NWA Champion Jeff Jarrett.
In October Hardy competed in a Monsters Ball match which he lost after taking himself out of the match with a Swanton Bomb off a ladder off the stage. Hardy was nearly 20feet off the concrete.
IN November, Hardy lost another number one contenders match, this time to Monty Brown.
In December Jeff Hardy again no-showed a PPV leading to another suspension & ultimatly his release.
Question: Had Jeff Hardy shown up that night, would he have simply repeated the same cycle over and over? As a result, never getting to where he is now? Also as a result of staying would he have gotten the rumoured World Title reign in 2006?
